This individual will serve a key function in managing client interaction, providing staff training and project leadership, performing numerical analyses to simulate foundation settlements, site-specific seismic studies, preparation of technical reports, specifications, plans, designing foundations, and other geotechnical aspects of construction. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner cross-functionally with top industry leadership in an ever-evolving environment.\nJob Responsibilities\nPerform or check numerical analyses to model building foundations, excavations, and dewatering\nPerform or check site-specific seismic studies (developing ground motions, ground response analyses, develop code-compliant recommendations);\nPreparation of technical reports, specifications, and geotechnical recommendations;\nPreparation of proposals, coordinating projects, managing clients and managing billings;\nProvide mentorship, coaching, and review of work for staff;\nPerform observation during construction projects;\nPerform and manage multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Monitor budgets, schedules, and project timelines; and\nPerform other duties as requested.\nQualifications\nMaster's degree in Geotechnical Engineering with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; PhD preferred;\nProfessional Engineer licensure;\n10+ years related geotechnical experience;\nPrior experience with geotechnical investigations and construction inspections;\nOffice experience with investigation and field work coordination, geotechnical reports, and specification writing;\nPrior field experience in: earthwork, driven and drilled pile construction, load testing, footings subgrade and backfill inspection, ground improvements, retaining wall design and construction, and excavation support system design and inspection;\nDesired software knowledge: PLAXIS, DEEPEX, FLAC2D/3D, LS-DYNA, LPILE, CLIQ, DEEPSOIL/RSSEISMIC, OPENQUAKE;\nDesired knowledge of ASCE 7\nRequired working knowledge of EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills;\nStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;\nAbility to effectively work independently and in a team environment;\nSome field work is required; and\nPossess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.\nLangan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives.
