This individual will support a broad range of infrastructure, transportation, utility, energy, and development projects throughout Southern California. Responsibilities include leading biological resource surveys, special-status species investigations, permitting support, biological monitoring, restoration monitoring, and regulatory compliance activities.\nJob Responsibilities\nLead nesting bird surveys, biological resources and habitat suitability assessments, vegetation communities classification and mapping, plant and animal species inventories, special status plant and animal species surveys, jurisdictional delineations, resource constraints analyses, and tree surveys;\nDevelop permit application packages for ACOE, CDFW, USFWS, and local agencies;\nCoordinate with field teams and project managers to implement permit conditions;\nTravel to job sites in remote locations; and,\nWork in construction environments where schedule, timeliness, and attention to detail are top priorities.\nPerforms other duties as requested\nDesired Key Species Experience \nCoastal California gnatcatcher\nLeast Bell's vireo\nSouthwestern willow flycatcher\nBurrowing owl\nCalifornia red-legged frog\nWestern snowy plover\nEl Segundo blue butterfly\nSpecial-status bats\nSensitive dune, coastal, and riparian habitats\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in biology, wildlife biology, ecology, botany, environmental science, or related field;\n3-6 years of biological consulting experience in Southern California;\nExperience conducting habitat assessments and special-status species surveys;\nExperience supporting large infrastructure or utility projects;\nExperience with biological compliance monitoring during construction;\nExperience with agency coordination and permitting support;\nExperience preparing permit applications and coordinating with USFWS, CDFW, USACE, Regional Water Boards, and local agencies;\nFamiliarity with CEQA, NEPA, ESA, Clean Water Act, and California Fish and Game Code requirements;\nExperience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, and GPS-based data collection;\nExcellent technical writing and communication skills;\nAbility to travel and perform fieldwork in varying environmental conditions.\nLangan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
