This individual will beresponsible for performing duties as field representative, including wetland delineations, rare plant surveys, wildlife surveys, restoration monitoring, collecting field data and samples, monitoring construction sites, and compiling data and preparing reports.\nJob Responsibilities\nConduct plant and wildlife surveys for habitat assessments, special-status species, and other project requirements.\nConduct wetland delineations, jurisdictional determinations, and other aquatic resource surveys.\nProvide biological monitoring and oversight for construction projects, restoration implementation, and restoration maintenance.\nDevelop environmental permitting packages and prepare technical reports.\nPerform stormwater monitoring and reporting.\nCoordinate staff, subcontractors, and project schedules.\nMaintain understanding of regulatory requirements and health and safety practices.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in biology, wildlife, botany, ecology, environmental science, or related field;\n2+ years of biological work experience with field experience required;\nWorking knowledge of Alberta and British Columbia environmental legislations, regulatory processes, and guidelines, including the Alberta Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA), Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (AEPA) requirements, Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) directives and OneStop system, BC Ministry of Environment and Parks, and BC Energy Regulators (BCER);\nKnowledge of protected species and permitting requirements;\nExperience using GPS units and field data collection tools;\nExperience conducting Detailed Site Assessments (DSA) and Reclamation Application Certification;\nWillingness and ability to travel up to 75% of the time, including travel to remote project sites and extended field assignments throughout Alberta and Western Canada;\nExperience completing breeding bird surveys in accordance with regulatory requirements;\nExperience identifying, delineating, and assessing wetlands and other aquatic resources;\nExperience preparing and implementing ECO Plans, Environmental Protection Plans (EPPs), or similar plans; and\nStrong understanding of soil profiles, vegetation communities, wildlife habitat assessments, and environmental permitting requirements.\nLangan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives.
