We build the foundation for agent engineering in the real world, helping developers move from prototypes to production-ready AI agents that teams can rely on. We began as widely adopted open-source tools and have grown to also offer a platform for building, evaluating, deploying, and operating agents at scale.\nWith $125M raised at Series B from IVP, Sequoia, Benchmark, CapitalG, and Sapphire Ventures, we’re at a stage where we’re continuing to develop new products, growth is accelerating, and all team members have meaningful impact on what we build and how we work together. LangChain is a place where your contributions can shape how this technology shows up in the real world.\nToday, our platform includes LangSmith (Observability, Evaluation, Deployment, Fleet, and Sandboxes), our open source frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, and Deep Agents), and the newly launched LangSmith Engine for autonomous agent improvement. We have 100M+ monthly open source downloads, 6,000+ active LangSmith customers, and 5 of the Fortune 10 use LangSmith in production (+ 35% of the Fortune 500 overall), including teams at Klarna, Clay, Coinbase, Workday, Lyft, Cloudflare, Harvey, Rippling, Vanta, LinkedIn, Monday.com, Nvidia, and Bridgewater.\nAbout the Team\nThe Infrastructure team builds and maintains the systems that power LangChain’s developer platform, including LangGraph Cloud and LangSmith. The team focuses on reliability, scalability, and developer productivity across the stack, working closely with backend, frontend, and platform engineers to ensure services are deployed, tested, and operated with confidence.\nAbout the Role\nWe’re hiring a Software Engineer to join the Infrastructure team and own developer productivity across our LangGraph Cloud/Platform and LangSmith products. You’ll work closely with Infrastructure, Backend, and Frontend teams to ship with confidence across Kubernetes-based services, APIs, and UI flows. You’ll also help pioneer quality practices specific to LLM applications, such as prompt regression testing and evaluation suites.\nLocation: In person 5 days/week in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn test strategy end-to-end across APIs, services, UI, data, and infrastructure (Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm)\n\nStand up ephemeral test environments in Kubernetes for pull requests and release candidates; seed test data and run hermetic test suites\n\nShift quality earlier in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) through parallelization, caching, deterministic seeds, flake tracking, and quality gates\n\nBuild observability into testing workflows with rich failure artifacts such as logs, traces, and dashboards\n\nEstablish performance and reliability baselines for critical paths, including SLIs, SLOs, and regression detection\n\nPartner on incident workflows by reproducing issues, adding targeted regression tests, and improving runbooks and postmortems\n\nWrite documentation including test plans, playbooks, and contributor guidelines for writing high-quality tests\n\nExample projects you might own\nA pull-request ephemeral end-to-end testing harness that deploys a minimal LangSmith stack in CI and runs Playwright and API suites against seeded tenants\n\nA k6 performance scenario that simulates multi-tenant traffic and surfaces p95/p99 latency regressions per release\n\nA flake-budget system that automatically quarantines flaky tests, opens issues with artifacts, and tracks time-to-deflake\n\nWhat You'll Bring\n3+ years of experience as a software engineer or infrastructure engineer\n\nStrong hands-on experience with Python and testing frameworks such as pytest\n\nExperience working with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions preferred) and improving pipeline performance and reliability\n\nSolid understanding of API testing, mocking/stubbing, and data setup/teardown\n\nComfort defining quality standards, writing test plans, and driving cross-team execution\n\nNice to Have\nExperience with load and performance testing tools such as k6\n\nFamiliarity with observability tooling such as Datadog or OpenTelemetry\n\nExperience testing services running on Kubernetes and containerized environments\n\nBasic infrastructure experience with Helm, Terraform, Kubernetes networking, or secrets management\n\nSQL fluency for validating data (Postgres, ClickHouse, BigQuery)\n\nFamiliarity with Go, Node, or React for targeted white-box tests and improving system testability\n\nCompensation\nAnnual salary range: $165,000- $250,000 USD\n\nCompensation Philosophy:\nWe offer competitive compensation that includes base salary, variable compensation for relevant roles, meaningful equity, benefits, and perks.\nWe are hiring for this role across a range of scope, and the compensation band reflects that. Your offer depends on what we learn about your impact, craft, leadership, and communication during the interview process. We will tell you early where you’re tracking and talk comp with you before offer stage. Team members in the EU, UK, and APAC receive locally competitive benefits aligned with regional norms and regulations.\nBenefits\nBenefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, meals on in-office days in the US and more.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5259,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":3,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Equity"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["LLM & Generative AI","AI Agents","AI Development Tools","AI Evaluation & Observability"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-10T21:35:00Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 17","filings_12m":17,"filings_prev_12m":2,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":172500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-29T16:27:21+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":75,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.836,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":48,"expected_fill_days":72,"reasons":["conf:3","velocity","win:mid"],"computed_at":"2026-10-29T05:49:05Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/langchain-developer-productivity","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/langchain-developer-productivity.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-30T03:00:12Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":3923,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-31T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":4855},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=4855"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Flangchain-developer-productivity"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Flangchain-developer-productivity"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Flangchain-developer-productivity"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/langchain-developer-productivity\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Flangchain-developer-productivity"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":661582}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"langchain.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":661582},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
