Lano is a global payroll platform enabling companies to standardize and manage multi-country payroll operations through a unified technology layer.

We are looking for a service-oriented and detail-oriented Operations & Customer Support Agent / Working Student (m/f/d)to join our international team in Berlin. In this role, you will sit on the front lines of our daily client communications - primarily managing our support inbox and resolving incoming client inquiries via email. You will assist users with navigating the Lano platform, guide them through operational workflows and ensure every client request is handled accurately and on time.

Main Tasks:

• Active Email Operations Support:Serve as the first point of contact for daily client requests via email, providing clear, structured, and timely updates.
• Workflow Execution:Handle core operational tasks directly, such as gathering compliance documents, data quality control and processing payroll requests within the Lano system.
• Internal Coordination:Collaborate closely with internal specialist teams (Finance, Global Payroll, Compliance, and Account Management) to drive client requests across the finish line.
• Request & Task Tracking:Keep internal task boards and CRM tools updated, ensuring open operational tickets are monitored, followed up on, and closed reliably.
• Documentation & Data Quality:Ensure client files, contractor records, and process logs are kept 100% accurate across our systems.
• Process Improvement:Identify recurring client inquiries and contribute ideas to refine internal workflows, optimize team processes, and improve overall response efficiency.

Your Profile:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business Management, Economics, International Business, Communication, or a related field at a university in Germany.
• Excellent written communication skills, with a focus on clear and professional email etiquette.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable managing operational workflows, digital tools, and data.
• Highly organized with strong time management skills to handle high email volume.
• Proactive, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Previous experience in client support, administration, operations, or SaaS is a plus, but not required.
• Fluent in English; German is a plus.

Nice to have:

• If you’ve worked in a Payroll provider or in the Payroll industry, this would be great.
• Basic familiarity or interest in Business Development, Fintech, Accounting, or legal/compliance operations.
