You will still ship code, prototypes, deliverables, and tackle the hardest problems, leading by example\n\nDrive architectural direction and long-term technical strategy for the Discovery platform, with measurable gains in scalability, reliability, and discovery accuracy\n\nOwn cross-team technical coherence through design reviews, RFCs, alignment, and influence across neighboring teams\n\nAct as technical reference for complex systems, networking, and discovery challenges\n\nDefine and evolve AI-native engineering practices, including where AI is used (code, tests, protocol reverse-engineering, documentation) and where boundaries are required (security, reproducibility), and drive adoption beyond your team\n\nPartner with product, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to turn ambiguous problem spaces into executable solutions\n\nMentor engineers and raise the technical bar across engineering\n\nWhat we're looking for\nRequired\n10+ years in software engineering with progression into architecture and technical leadership\n\nProven cross-team impact, influencing architecture, driving adoption, and improving outcomes\n\nStrong distributed-systems and backend experience in production, including large-scale, variable, or partial-data environments\n\nStrong networking fundamentals, the deeper the better\n\nAI fluency and orchestration: you use AI across your daily craft - code, tests, documentation - and critically assess correctness, security, and limitations\n\nSolid grasp of data modeling, APIs, and service-oriented architectures\n\nStrong Plus\nAffinity with\n\nExperience with C++, Rust, Go, or Java (language matters less than how you think and orchestrate AI)\n\nDeep protocol-level knowledge\n\nExperience building or operating large-scale discovery or scanning systems\n\nSolid CI/CD practices and experience operating containerized workloads in production\n\nNice To Have\nExposure to OT, IoT or medical environments\n\nExperience with on-premise or air-gapped deployments\n\nHigh-throughput service design\n\nPlatform engineering and infrastructure-as-code experience\n\n*This role may include participation in our on-call duty system, which means being available outside regular hours to respond to urgent technical incidents.
