We’ll share more details when we talk.\nAbout This Role\nThis is a role for someone who cares as much about how it looks as how it's built, and won't let either one slip. You'll own Lapel's interfaces from concept through implementation, build the design system the product scales on, and be expected to bring craft and technical rigor to everything you touch.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn end-to-end implementation of product interfaces from Figma to production-ready code\n\nDesign and build a scalable design system with reusable, accessible components\n\nCollaborate closely with founders and product to shape UX, iterating in both Figma and code\n\nBuild polished, responsive interfaces with strong attention to typography, spacing, motion, and interaction\n\nCreate interactive prototypes to validate design decisions before full implementation\n\nWrite clean, maintainable frontend code using React, TypeScript, and modern styling approaches\n\nEnsure performance and accessibility are built into every interface\n\nSet and uphold a high bar for craft, quality, and user experience across the product\n\nShip quickly from concept to production while maintaining high standards\n\nOur Stack\nLapel is built end-to-end in TypeScript in a single monorepo.\nReact, Vite, and Tailwind on the frontend;\n\nNode.js and Postgres on the backend;\n\nTemporal and Pulsar to power orchestration.\n\nWe ship quickly, and care about creating a developer experience where anyone can prototype, experiment, and get ideas into production fast.\nYou’ll Thrive in This Role If You\nHave 5+ years of experience building product interfaces with both design and frontend ownership\n\nHave owned large-scale, enterprise products end-to-end\n\nAre highly proficient in React, JavaScript/TypeScript, and component-based architecture\n\nHave strong design sensibility (typography, spacing, color, hierarchy, visual polish)\n\nAre fluent in Figma, including high-fidelity design, prototyping, and design systems\n\nUnderstand and implement motion design effectively (animations that enhance UX)\n\nHave shipped production code used by real users\n\nThink in systems and build scalable, reusable components (not one-offs)\n\nAre opinionated about quality but collaborative in execution\n\nMove fast while maintaining attention to detail and craft\n\nCare deeply about usability, accessibility, and creating delightful experiences\n\nThe Process\nWe aim to hire with intention, respect your time, and offer feedback along the way.\nInitial conversation (20 minutes) We’ll explore your motivations, share what we’re building, and answer your questions.\n\nIn-depth interview (60 minutes) We’ll go deeper into your craft and experience. No live coding. Customer operations is one of the largest, most under-built surfaces in software. Every company runs on it, every team feels the pain, and the tools haven't been seriously reimagined in fifteen years.
