Way (Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence).\nPurpose/Summary: Manufactures products by completing production plans, improving methods, and supervising plant staff.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nSupervise daily operations across burning/plasma, grinding, saw operations, and all related plant machinery.\nAssign and prioritize work across departments to meet production schedules and on-time delivery requirements.\nReview work orders, blueprints, and job specifications to ensure proper setup and execution across all assigned areas.\nMonitor production output, machine utilization, and workflow efficiency; identify and resolve bottlenecks.\nEnsure product quality meets customer specifications and company standards at each stage of production.\nTrain, mentor, and develop production personnel on equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality expectations.\nConduct inspections of work in progress and completed parts across all supervised departments.\nCoordinate workflow and scheduling between burning/plasma, grinding, saw operations, and downstream departments including fabrication, welding, and shipping.\nEnsure all plant machinery is properly operated and that operators are following established procedures and maintenance checklists.\nCommunicate equipment issues, downtime, and maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel promptly.\nEnforce all safety policies and ensure consistent compliance with PPE requirements throughout the shop floor.\nMaintain accurate documentation related to production output, quality, and personnel as required.\nAssist with troubleshooting machine and production issues; coordinate with maintenance as needed.\nParticipate in manpower planning, daily scheduling, and shift handoff communications.\nCommunicate production status, issues, and improvements effectively to the Operations Manager.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, rework, and downtime across all supervised areas.\nWear approved personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection at all times on the shop floor.\nPerform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.\nQualifications; Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nPrevious supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred.\nWorking knowledge of burning/plasma cutting, grinding, and saw operations in an industrial setting preferred.\nFamiliarity with a broad range of plant machinery and the ability to oversee safe and effective operation.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and job specifications.\nStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple departments simultaneously.\nAbility to manage competing priorities, adjust to shifting production demands, and meet deadlines.\nExperience with workflow coordination across multiple departments or production areas.\nAbility to use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and calipers.\nAbility to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts.\nAbility to perform math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions as well as converting fractions to decimals or vice versa.\nKnowledge of general shop procedures, safety precautions, and OSHA compliance requirements.\nAbility to lift and move up to seventy-five (75) pounds, as well as lift and move heavier objects with assistance.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office programs preferred; AS400 or ERP system experience a plus.\nAbility and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work as part of a production team.\nWorking Conditions:\nWorking conditions consist of an indoor shop floor environment with exposure to loud noise, airborne particles such as metal dust and fumes, bright light from cutting operations, and moving mechanical parts. Physical requirements include continual standing, walking, and periodic bending, stooping, climbing, twisting, and crouching.
