The Intermediate Accountant will support day-to-day accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and control activities for CSI Sands (N.E.) and will be an integral part of a fast-paced production environment.\nReporting to the Director, Accounting and Finance, with a matrix reporting line to the General Manager, the Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for:\nPreparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement schedules and supporting documentation for review\nSupporting month-end and year-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and general ledger review\nPerforming and supporting day-to-day accounting activities, including:accounts payable and accounts receivable\ncash receipts, disbursements, banking, and credit card reconciliations\npurchase order review and expenditure coding\n\nMaintaining fixed asset records and supporting capital expenditure accounting\nSupporting inventory accounting, costing, cycle counts, and reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting\nPreparing audit working papers and assisting with information required for the year-end audit\nAssisting with annual regulatory, tax, and other required filings\nFollowing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls and contributing ideas for process improvements\nProviding accurate financial information and accounting support in response to ad hoc requests from internal stakeholders\nCollaborating with accounting administrators and other team members to support accurate and timely completion of day-to-day accounting activities\nSkills and Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\nCPA designation or progress toward a CPA designation would be an asset, but not a requirement\nMinimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations\nExperience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred; experience in the trucking industry would be considered an asset\nExperience with inventory accounting, costing, and reconciliation\nStrong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with accounting or ERP systems is preferred\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with close attention to detail\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across operations\nAbility to organize priorities, meet reporting deadlines, and work independently with appropriate guidance\nA proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement\nWe encourage all who are qualified and interested to apply in confidence;
