The Senior Accountant will play a key role in day-to-day accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, and control activities for CSI Sands (N.E.) and will be an integral part of a fast-paced production environment.\nReporting to the Director, Accounting and Finance, with a matrix reporting line to the General Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for:\nPreparing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules\nLeading month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and review of the general ledger\nManaging day-to-day accounting activities, including:accounts payable and accounts receivable\ncash receipts, disbursements, banking, and credit card reconciliations\npurchase order review and expenditure coding\n\nMaintaining fixed asset records and supporting capital expenditure accounting\nSupporting inventory accounting, costing, cycle counts, and reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting\nPreparing audit working papers and coordinating information required for the year-end audit\nPreparing and supporting annual regulatory, tax, and other required filings\nMaintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls and recommending process improvements\nProviding accurate financial information and accounting support in response to ad hoc requests from internal stakeholders\nLeading, supporting, and overseeing a team of accounting administrators to ensure accurate and timely completion of day-to-day accounting activities\nSkills and Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field\nCertified Public Accountant (CPA) designation would be an asset\nMinimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations\nExperience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred; experience in the trucking industry would be considered an asset\nExperience with inventory accounting, costing, and reconciliation\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office;
