The engineer plays a key role in ensuring quality workmanship, resolving site issues, and coordinating with contractors, vendors, and other discipline teams to ensure smooth project execution.\nKey Responsibilities:\n1. Site Execution & Supervision\nSupervise day-to-day mechanical activities at the substation site.\nEnsure installation of mechanical systems such as transformers' cooling systems, firefighting systems, HVAC units, piping, pumps, and oil handling systems as per approved drawings and specifications.\nMonitor contractor activities and ensure proper resource utilization.\nVerify alignment, leveling, and installation quality of mechanical equipment.\nEnsure all activities are completed as per project schedule and milestones.\n2. Installation & Commissioning\nOversee installation, testing, and commissioning of all mechanical equipment.\nCoordinate with vendors and specialists during equipment installation and startup.\nConduct pre-commissioning checks and ensure systems are functioning as intended.\nAssist in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues during commissioning stage.\nMaintain records of commissioning activities and reports.\n3. Quality Control & Inspection\nEnsure all works comply with project specifications, approved method statements, and quality standards.\nConduct routine inspections and prepare inspection reports.\nRaise site observations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.\nCoordinate with QA/QC engineers for inspections and approvals.\nVerify material deliveries and ensure they meet technical requirements.\n4. Coordination & Communication\nCoordinate with electrical, civil, and other discipline teams for smooth execution of activities.\nLiaise with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants regarding mechanical works.\nParticipate in daily/weekly site meetings and provide updates on mechanical progress.\nResolve site conflicts and technical issues in consultation with the engineering team.\n5. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)\nEnsure all mechanical activities are carried out in compliance with safety regulations.\nEnforce use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures at site.\nConduct safety checks and participate in toolbox talks.\nIdentify risks and implement mitigation measures.\nReport incidents and ensure corrective actions are taken.\n6.
