TheTooling Machinist is responsible for producing, repairing, and maintaining precision tooling and components using manual and CNC machining equipment to support manufacturing operations and quality standards.\nDuties/Responsibilities:\nOperates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, CNC equipment, and grinders to manufacture metal components.\nReviews electronic or written blueprints and job specifications.\nCalculates and determines appropriate cutting and boring dimensions.\nShapes materials such as steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, silicon, and other materials.\nDetermines feed rates and cutting speeds for optimal performance.\nIdentifies the amount of material to be removed.\nSelects appropriate tools and materials for each job.\nPlans the sequence of cutting and finishing operations.\nMarks workpieces to indicate where cuts should be made.\nPositions workpieces on drill presses, lathes, or milling machines.\nMonitors and controls feed rate, speed, and machine performance.\nEnsures proper lubrication and cooling of the workpiece.\nRegulates workpiece temperature during operations.\nDetects issues by observing machine performance and listening for irregular sounds.\nAdjusts cutting speeds to compensate for vibration or inconsistencies.\nMonitors accuracy and quality of cuts throughout the process.\nReplaces worn or dull cutting tools as needed.\nVerifies finished work against blueprints and specifications.\nProduces high-volume quantities of parts as required.\nDetermines how automated equipment will perform cutting operations.\nEstablishes cutting paths and machining processes.\nConverts cutting path, speed, and feed data into machine instructions.\nOperates both manual and computer-controlled machinery.\nWrites and modifies basic machine programs as needed.\nEssential Functions:\nMust be able to understand and apply basic instructions related to safety procedures, quality standards, production goals, and company policies.\nAbility to use hand tools and operate machinery in routine, non-routine, simple, and complex environments.\nDemonstrates strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.\nWorks within established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintains a clean and safe work environment.\nMay be required to operate a forklift.\nMaintains proper inventory of tooling and equipment.\nMaintains reliable attendance.\nPerforms other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including but not limited to:Ensuring quality standards are met.\nReworking or repairing products.\nSupporting production needs as required.\n\nCompetencies and Abilities:\nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently.\nAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment.\nCapable of following detailed instructions, processes, and procedures.\nAble to identify product defects and communicate issues to the appropriate personnel.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nQualifications:\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nAssociate Degree preferred.\n1 to 3 years of relevant experience required.\n3 to 5 years of experience preferred.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.\nRegularly required to talk and hear.\nFrequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms. \nWork Environment: \nThis position operates in both a controlled office environment and a manufacturing setting.
