This individual will be responsible for operating the labelers associated with the line the employee has been assigned to in an efficient manner. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with close attention to detail through many changes.\nPrimary Responsibilities include:\nSet up and operate a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines\nControls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specification, and in a timely fashion\nKnows the purpose and follows the proper operation of all safety switches, interlocks, and safety devices\nPerforms label cuts properly\nAdjust the pick-up and lap-end glue for changing application needs. If adjustments are not effective, the operator will need to request maintenance assistance immediately.\nMust with maintenance personnel regarding labeler area issues to avoid downtime accumulation\nUnderstands and can properly operate all machine controls\nClean all labeler and labeler parts\nAdjust the label basket as needed\nClear jams and re-time the machine\nAdjust the brushes to ensure proper label application\nDemonstrates proficiency in operating and adjusting the labeler\nPerform size/bottle changeovers\nAccountable for food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements for their position \nEncouraged to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues\nAdopt and maintain all SQF requirements for their position\nEmpowerment to work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within their scope of work\nHelp relieve label inspector for breaks and lunch breaks, only if labeler efficiency and line feed are maintained\nPerforms other related duties as required and assigned\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nMinimum Required Qualifications\nSix months experience in a manufacturing environment operating production equipment\nA high school diploma or equivalent\nMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills\nMust be detailed oriented and can multi-task\nMust have excellent time management skills\nAdditional Preferred Qualifications\nExperience in the food/beverage industry a plus\nPrevious experience in Manufacturing or production environment a plus\nAbility to direct, coach and train others.\nConsultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS\nThis position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.\nFREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).\nOCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.\nVISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.\nHEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
