This individual will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of line employees. The Production Supervisor is directly responsible for the results of a line, value stream team, or technology group. Owns Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Waste & Customer Service. The Production Supervisor directly coaches line operators to ensure all products coming off the line have the highest quality possible. This position is also responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality.\nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job)\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nResponsibilities include:\nEnsure the Safety of our People and our products\nTroubleshoot equipment individually and through coaching of the operators when there is downtime. Assist operators in resolving mechanical and operational issues related to equipment stops and breakdowns.\nWork with the operations department to facilitate a teamwork approach, combining the expertise and manpower of both production and maintenance departments for the good of the company\nDefine project priorities and provide direction to production staff. Monitors team performance and audit activities to ensure personnel are performing quality work, supporting a quality product, and managing equipment to meet goals. \nProvide leadership to the team which includes following the Performance Management System, setting expectations that align with the area’s business objectives, and providing routine feedback on performance. \nManage the PDCA process from cradle to grave to include a problem statement, root cause analysis, and countermeasure implementation. \nWork with improvement teams to identify, evaluate, and implement reliability improvement opportunities through changes to operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and equipment upgrades. \nDevelop, post, and communicate procedures/processes for their area that support the production strategies.\nUtilize preventive and predictive operator maintenance techniques to minimize equipment breakdowns.\nManage personnel plan to set up team for success.\nDevelop and implement operator preventative maintenance systems. Maintains the plant CIL program, Changeover Program, Startup/Shutdown procedures, and Machine Centerline process.\nAssist in the selection process of new hires. Manage the production training program for the production staff.\nAbility to understand line control, bottle flow, and can flow to balance the line so the flow of work is at an even pace.\nAbility to understand staffing and productivity calculations to understand measures and set targets.\nCoordinate with the maintenance department to drive optimum performance on production lines and assist with supporting production personnel as needed.\nAbility to analyze data with the use of the computer so measures and set targets can be communicated.\nDemonstrate a working understanding and ability to operate all plant machinery.\nPossess the ability to troubleshoot machine setup issues and operator competency gaps.\nCapability to develop training standards and work instructions for production processes.\nEnsure all production preventative maintenance items are completed.\nPerforms all other duties as assigned.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nManage 10-20 employees; the Production Team reports to this position.\nMonitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback, coaching, counseling, and disciplining; conduct training; implement enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.\nMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; and reviewing professional publications.\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\nMinimum Required Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required\nCollege degree or equivalent strongly preferred. \nPrevious experience in Manufacturing or production environment.\nMust have experience using a PC and business information systems/software.\nAdditional Preferred Qualifications\nExperience in the food/beverage industry\nExperience in report writing\nMust have excellent verbal and written communication skills\nMust be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task\nMust have excellent time management skills\nAbility to direct, coach, and train others.\nConsultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS\nThis position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting; driving a motor vehicle and occasionally working in the field.\nFREQUENT: sitting, upward and downward flexion of neck; fine finger dexterity and light to moderate finger pressure to include extended periods of keyboard and mouse use, side-to-side turning of neck, walking, standing, bending and stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting at waist, moderate wrist torque to twist equipment knobs and dials.\nOCCASIONAL: squatting, kneeling, reach above and at shoulder height, moderate grasp to manipulate reference books and manuals; lifting objects weighing 50 pounds from below waist to above shoulders and transporting distances up to 50 feet.\nVISION: Ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction.\nHEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.\nThis job description is not intended to contain a comprehensive list of the responsibilities that are required to successfully perform in this position.
