Engineering Delivery Lead

TheEngineeringDelivery Lead is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of technology outcomes across Customer Care and Enterprise Engineering. Reporting to the Technology Product Owner, the role translates agreed priorities into executable delivery plans and leads cross-functional teams to deliver secure, reliable and measurable business outcomes.

The role balances strategic initiatives with business-as-usual delivery, maintains clear delivery rhythm and governance, and works across engineering, cloud, infrastructure, networks, analysis, testing, operations and external partners. Success requires strong ownership, practical judgement, transparent escalation and the ability to navigate competing priorities and dependencies.

In this role, you'll:

• Own end-to-end delivery. Plan and coordinate initiatives from discovery and mobilisation through implementation, transition to support and benefits tracking.
• Translate priorities into an executable plan. Partner with the Technology Product Owner and technical leads to shape scope, sequencing, milestones, resource needs and delivery commitments.
• Balance BAU and change. Maintain visibility of operational demand and key initiatives, actively managing capacity, trade-offs and impacts across the portfolio.
• Establish delivery rhythm and controls. Run fit-for-purpose planning, stand-ups, showcases, retrospectives and status reporting, supported by accurate plans, decisions, actions and financial tracking.
• Lead cross-functional delivery. Create alignment and accountability across engineers, cloud and infrastructure specialists, network teams, developers, business analysts, testers, operations and delivery partners.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Relevant delivery experience. Demonstrated experience leading complex technology delivery in a large or regulated enterprise environment.
• Strong planning and execution capability. A track record of converting strategy and priorities into realistic plans and driving work through to measurable outcomes.
• Broad technology understanding. Working knowledge across software engineering, cloud, infrastructure, networks, enterprise platforms, testing, service transition and operational support.
• Delivery methods knowledge. Practical experience applying Agile, Scrum, Kanban and DevOps principles, while adapting governance to the context rather than applying a one-size-fits-all process.
• Commercial and financial discipline. Experience managing budgets, forecasts, suppliers, statements of work and change impacts.
• Risk and governance awareness. Confidence operating within change, security, risk, compliance and audit obligations.
• Influence and communication skills. The ability to align diverse stakeholders, facilitate decisions, respectfully challenge late or low-value change and escalate issues without creating unnecessary noise.
• Resilience and adaptability. The judgement and composure to manage ambiguity, competing priorities and delivery pressure while maintaining constructive team relationships.
• Qualifications. A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience. Certifications such as SAFe, PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum or Agile delivery credentials are advantageous, but not essential.
• AI. You are familiar with AI tools - comfortable using tools to accelerate insights, automate routine work, prepare reporting, and tailor content quickly and effectively.
