Use AI-powered code-transformation and refactoring tools to accelerate modernization efforts.\nDefine Future-Facing User Experiences Ensure Lattice EDA tools deliver intuitive, coherent, and productive user experiences across platforms-enabling engineers to design, debug, and optimize FPGA systems with ease.\nCross-Functional Architectural Ownership Translate marketing requirements into UI architecture, UX flows, interaction models, and functional specifications. Own the design intent throughout implementation.\nMentorship & Technical Leadership Guide junior UI engineers, promote best practices, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement in UI engineering and UX design.\nUX and Visual Design Excellence Elevate the aesthetic and functional quality of the Lattice EDA suite, including layouts, color systems, iconography, and design patterns that reflect contemporary standards.\nAccessibility & Inclusive Design Champion accessible UI development-including disability-friendly interactions, optimized workflows for diverse user needs, keyboard-only navigation, contrast-optimized themes, and screen-reader compatibility.\nWorkflow Optimization for Power Users Reimagine and streamline engineer workflows through thoughtful interaction design, responsive UI behaviors, automation-driven assistance, and human-centered UX optimizations.\nUser Research & Usability Testing Identify opportunities for user studies, conduct heuristic evaluations, gather real-world feedback, and iteratively enhance UI designs.\nMaintain High Engineering Standards Ensure performance, stability, scalability, and maintainability of UI architectures. Establish robust design documentation and technical guidelines.\nDrive Process Improvements Contribute to the Spec and Plan process and continuously improve development methodologies.\nQualifications\nBS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, HCI, or related field\n15+ years of experience in UI engineering for complex systems such as EDA tools, CAD applications, modeling environments, or other professional engineering software.\nExperience modernizing large legacy UI codebases, including use of AI-assisted refactoring, code translation models, or automation-based transformation tools.\n Strong UI architecture expertise across one or more modern environments (e.g., C++, QT, cross-platform UI systems).\nDeep understanding of UX principles, human-computer interaction, information hierarchy, interaction models, and end-to-end workflow design.\nExperience with scripting languages such as Python, TCL, or shell scripting.\nKnowledge of FPGA or ASIC design workflows is a strong plus.\n Background in performance-sensitive UI engineering (e.g., visualization, large data models, graphical workflows) is desirable.\nIndependent problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and proven project leadership.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multifunctional teams.\nLattice recognizes that employees are its greatest asset and the driving force behind success in a highly competitive, global industry.
