Our platform gives teams the confidence to release gradually, target experiences to the right audiences, learn through experimentation, understand what is happening in production, and respond quickly when risk appears.\nOur engineers build the systems, services, SDKs, developer tools, cloud infrastructure, and product experiences that make this possible. The work spans high-scale distributed systems, reliable data and event pipelines, intuitive enterprise workflows, and AI-powered capabilities that help teams manage the next generation of software delivery.\nLaunchDarkly’s SDKs are used in systems that perform trillions of feature flag evaluations each day, giving our engineering work a direct connection to the reliability and customer experience of software around the world. As the company grows, we are expanding beyond traditional feature management into experimentation, observability, and AgentControl-helping customers control more of the software and AI lifecycle. That creates an unusually broad set of technical challenges, visible customer impact, and room for engineers to shape what comes next.\nWe believe in the power of teams. We work with humility, openness, curiosity, and care; we value clear communication, thoughtful technical judgment, inclusive collaboration, and a strong sense of ownership. We encourage people to apply even when they do not meet every qualification listed below. We are interested in the experience, perspective, and potential you would bring to the role.\nAbout the role\nThe specific level and technical emphasis will vary by opportunity. Some teams may prioritize backend depth, data-intensive applications, enterprise workflows, observability, experimentation, or AI-powered product experiences.\nAs a Full Stack Engineer at LaunchDarkly, you will build customer-facing product experiences and the backend systems that support them. You will work across the application boundary from intuitive, accessible interfaces to reliable services, APIs, and data flows and help shape how customers understand, configure, and control software delivery.\nThis is an opportunity to work on products where engineering judgment is visible. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and other engineering teams to make complex capabilities feel clear and useful, while ensuring that the underlying systems are scalable, secure, and dependable.\nWhat you’ll do\nBuild and ship end-to-end product capabilities across frontend and backend systems.\nDevelop user experiences using technologies such as TypeScript and React, along with services and APIs using technologies such as Go, Python, or comparable tools.\nTranslate customer problems and product goals into thoughtful technical designs and incremental delivery plans.\nOwn features from discovery and design through implementation, launch, measurement, and iteration.\nCollaborate with Product, Design, Data, and engineering partners to make decisions that balance usability, performance, reliability, and time to value.\nWrite readable, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to shared engineering practices.\nImprove observability, operational health, and the quality of the systems you touch.\nParticipate in code reviews, technical discussions, incident response, and continuous improvement.\nQualifications\n5+ years of experience building and operating production software in a professional environment, or equivalent demonstrable experience.\nExperience contributing across both frontend and backend layers, with a willingness to work at the API boundary rather than in only one part of the stack.\nExperience with a backend language such asGo, Python, Rust, or an equivalent language. (Most of our teams use Go)\nExperience with a modern frontend framework, such as React, and a typed language, such as TypeScript.\nExperience designing or consuming APIs and working with backend services, data stores, or asynchronous systems.\nStrong product instincts and an ability to connect technical decisions to customer outcomes.\nClear communication and a collaborative approach to working with engineers and cross-functional partners.\nA commitment to quality, accessibility, maintainability, and continuous learning.\nPay:\nTarget pay ranges based on Geographic Zones* for Level 3:\nZone 1: San Francisco/Bay Area or NYC Metropolitan Area, Boston, Seattle - $171,200 - $235,400**\nZone 2: Irvine, LA, Monterey, Santa Barbara, Santa Rosa, Austin, Portland, Philadelphia, Chicago - $154,100 - $211,860**\nZone 3: All other US locations - $145,500 - $200,090**\nLaunchDarkly operates from a place of high trust and transparency; we are happy to state the pay range for our open roles to best align with your needs. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.\n*Within the United States, our geographic pay zones are defined by counties surrounding major metropolitan areas.\n**Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), health, vision, and dental insurance, and mental health benefits in addition to salary.\nAbout LaunchDarkly:\nModern software delivery was supposed to be the foundation for a thriving digital business but reality has proven otherwise. Slow, inefficient development cycles, costly outages, and fragmented customer experiences are preventing developers from building their best software. The LaunchDarkly platform helps developers innovate on new features faster while protecting them with a safety valve to instantly rewind when things go wrong. Developers can target product experiences to any customer segment and maximize the business impact of every feature. And by gradually rolling out new application components, they escape nightmare \"big-bang\" technology migrations. \nThe LaunchDarkly platform was built to guide engineers to the next frontier of DevOps by:\nImproving the velocity and stability of software releases, without the fear of end customer outages\nDelivering targeted experiences by easily personalizing features to customer cohorts\nMaximizing the business impact of every feature through the ability to experiment and optimize\nCoordinating the release and optimization of software to provide consistent experiences across mobile platforms and device types\nImproving the effectiveness and productivity of engineering teams, by providing insights into engineering cadence and stability\nAt LaunchDarkly, we believe in the power of teams.
