As Law Librarian at Lawhive, you will be the research and knowledge backbone of our US legal practice, blending traditional law librarianship with training and evaluating our AI agent, Lawrence.\nYou will conduct deep legal research, check statutes and case law, build and maintain our library of precedents and templates, and manage the taxonomy, databases and knowledge-sharing that our attorneys rely on every day. Alongside this, you will help ensure and enhance the quality of Lawrence, our AI-powered legal platform, by reviewing AI-generated legal content and checking that its citations, statutes and references are accurate and up to date.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct in-depth legal research, statutory checks and case law analysis to support our attorneys across practice areas\n\nStructure and maintain our internal document archive, including precedents, templates and practice guides\n\nBuild and manage our legal taxonomy so knowledge is easy to find and consistently organised\n\nManage access to legal research databases (e.g. Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg Law) and support attorneys in using them effectively\n\nShare knowledge across the group’s firms through research memos, current-awareness updates and training\n\nReview legal content, drafts and responses produced by our AI agent, Lawrence, for accuracy and legitimacy\n\nFact-check legal citations, statutes and references generated by the platform, flagging errors and outdated authority\n\nPartner with our AI, Product and Engineering teams to feed back on quality issues and help improve how Lawrence handles legal research\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\nAn MLIS/MLS or equivalent qualification; a JD is a bonus\n\nExperience as a law librarian, legal research analyst or similar role in a law firm, law school, court or legal publisher\n\nExpert command of US legal research methods and tools\n\nA proven interest in AI and how it can be used to improve the legal system; hands-on experience with legal AI tools is a bonus\n\nExperience organising legal knowledge (precedent banks, taxonomies, intranets or knowledge management systems)\n\nMeticulous attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and effectively\n\nHighly motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise competing research requests\n\nPrevious experience in a start-up or scale-up environment considered a bonus\n\nInterview process\nIntroductory call with our Talent team\n\n1:1 with your hiring manager\n\n1:1 with our Product Team\n\nValues interview with one of our Founders\n\nWe offer!\n\nBenefits\nHealthcare benefits: 'Premium' plan with 100% employee cover and 50% dependent cover\n\nVacation: 20 days + 11 Federal holidays + 1 day of Birthday leave\n\n401k: Matching contribution up to 2% of salary\n\nMeaningful early-stage share options\n\nWork from anywhere for a month\n\nTop-spec Macbook\n\nRegular team building activities and socials!\n\nDiversity at Lawhive\nAt Lawhive we know that diversity of thought is critical to delivering outlier outcomes.
