We are recruiting for an E-commerce SEO Specialist to join our growing E-commerce & Digital team, taking ownership of SEO across our Group websites to improve online visibility, grow organic traffic and drive commercial performance.\nPosition Overview\nWe are looking for an experienced, commercially minded SEO professional with strong technical SEO and e-commerce experience. You will develop and deliver organic search strategies across multiple websites and brands, improving search visibility, website performance and customer acquisition.\nWorking closely with colleagues across E-commerce & Digital, you will lead technical SEO improvements, develop effective content strategies and use data to identify opportunities for growth. You will also help the Group adapt to the evolving search landscape, exploring opportunities in AI-powered search, Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) and emerging technologies.\nThis is a hands-on role offering genuine ownership, the opportunity to introduce new ideas and the ability to make a measurable impact across an established and growing business.\nMain Responsibilities\nLead technical SEO audits and ongoing optimisation across all Group websites.\n\nIdentify and resolve issues relating to crawling, indexing, site architecture, canonicalisation, structured data and website performance.\n\nSupport website migrations, technical upgrades and ongoing e-commerce development.\n\nOptimise product and category pages to improve organic search visibility and performance.\n\nDevelop and deliver SEO strategies to increase organic traffic, customer acquisition and revenue.\n\nConduct keyword research, competitor analysis and identify commercial growth opportunities.\n\nDevelop content strategies covering buying guides, product information, category pages and blogs.\n\nImprove local SEO performance across the Group's branch network, including Google Business Profiles and location-based searches.\n\nMonitor search performance and use data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.\n\nKeep up to date with AI-powered search developments, including AEO, GEO and emerging agentic technologies.\n\nExplore how AI can improve SEO workflows, content production, research and optimisation.\n\nUse Google Search Console, GA4, BrightEdge and other SEO platforms to monitor performance and produce reports.\n\nWork collaboratively with the wider E-commerce & Digital team to align SEO activity with commercial priorities, promotions and marketing campaigns.\n\nEssential Skills & Experience\n3-5 years' experience in SEO, ideally within a B2C e-commerce environment.\n\nStrong technical SEO knowledge, including crawling, indexing, structured data, website architecture and Core Web Vitals.\n\nProven experience improving organic search rankings, traffic and commercial performance.\n\nExperience developing and implementing content-led SEO strategies.\n\nProficiency with Google Search Console, GA4 and established SEO tools.\n\nUnderstanding of AI-powered search and the evolving role of AEO, GEO and emerging technologies.\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and prioritise opportunities.\n\nA proactive, commercially minded approach with the confidence to take ownership and introduce new ideas.\n\nDesirable Skills & Experience\nExperience with Adobe Commerce (Magento) or similar e-commerce platforms.\n\nExperience managing SEO across multiple websites or brands.\n\nExperience using AI tools to improve SEO processes, content production and efficiency.\n\nExperience building internal applications, automation workflows or custom tools using AI-assisted development.\n\nFamiliarity with low-code automation platforms.\n\nExperience using BrightEdge.\n\nExperience developing local SEO strategies for multi-location businesses.\n\nWorking Hours, Salary & Benefits\nWorking hours: Monday-Friday 08.00 - 17.00\n\nCompetitive salary ( depending on experience)\n\nHoliday: 25 days’ holiday plus UK Bank Holidays and an additional celebration day\n\nCompany pension scheme\n\nLife Assurance / Death in Service\n\nMy Reward benefits platform, including retail discounts, wellbeing support and Online GP access\n\nEmployee Assistance Programme\n\nTraining, development and genuine career progression\n\nSupportive, team-focused working environment\n\nWhy Join Lawsons\nThis is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious and growing E-commerce & Digital team within a business that has made digital transformation a strategic priority.
