You might be a developer looking for a smaller company, or you might work in IT and have developed strong software skills along the way. We care more about what you can do than the title you’ve held.\nThis role is 100% on site in Wentzville, Missouri. Applicants must already live within reasonable commuting distance. We are not considering remote or relocation candidates.\nWhat you’ll do\nBuild and improve applications used by Midtown employees.\nWork across interfaces, APIs, business logic, and databases.\nTalk directly with users to understand problems and build useful solutions.\nInvestigate bugs and production issues, and test your fixes.\nUse AI tools throughout development while reviewing and taking responsibility for the results.\nWork with a small team and take ownership of the features you build.\nHow we work with AI\nAI-assisted engineering is central to our team’s workflow. We use AI tools to explore approaches, write and change code, debug, test, document, and review our work.\nWe’re looking for someone who already uses AI regularly to build software. You should be able to explain how you use it on real projects, where it helps, where it falls short, and how you verify the work before shipping it.\nWhat we’re looking for\nYou can build working software and explain how it works. You can trace a problem through an application, make a change, and check that the change solved the problem.\nYou may be a good fit if you:\nHave built or substantially improved applications at work or independently.\nHave experience with frontend development and some exposure to APIs and databases, or are ready to work across all three.\nCan debug problems, ask useful questions, and learn unfamiliar tools.\nCare about the people using the software and the quality of what you deliver.\nWant meaningful responsibility on a small team.\nA computer science degree, a specific number of years in a developer role, and experience with our exact stack are not required.\nOur stack\nOur current stack includes TypeScript, Vue 3, Nuxt, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Prisma, Redis, Tailwind CSS, Docker, Git, and AI-assisted development tools.
