Working at the intersection of government policy, public health and industry engagement, you will build relationships with government stakeholders, support the development and implementation of lead paint regulation, and work with paint manufacturers to transition to lead-free products. Read more about our approach here.\n\nThis role is for someone who understands how to work effectively with the government in Indonesia, can navigate complex stakeholder relationships, and is comfortable taking initiative to turn ambitious goals into practical progress. You will have the autonomy to lead workstreams, solve problems and represent LEEP credibly with government and industry partners. A successful candidate will be one who is highly autonomous, has strong interpersonal skills, and who shares LEEP’s values.\nKey Responsibilities\nBuild and maintain relationships with governments to introduce and implement lead paint regulation (30%)Engaging with policy-makers across multiple ministries and agencies, maintaining relationships that support progress towards program goals\nWorking with government partners to plan and advance regulatory activities, taking account of their priorities, processes and constraints\nPreparing advocacy communications, educational resources, and presentations to support government decision-making\nRepresenting LEEP in government meetings and stakeholder workshops, communicating evidence and recommendations effectively\nProject planning with government partners\nConducting training, providing technical input and follow-up support to help partners progress agreed activities\n\nIndustry assistance (30%)Engaging with all manufacturers in Indonesia, both large companies and small- and medium-sized enterprises\nPresenting the case for lead paint phase-out and how LEEP can support \nWorking in collaboration with LEEP’s paint technologist to find solutions to manufacturers’ requirements\nFinding suppliers of non-lead based raw materials \n\nStrategy and planning (15%)Designing a project plan to meet LEEP’s goals and considering stakeholders’ requirements \nTroubleshooting any program blockers and identifying creative solutions \nSharing learnings with the LEEP team and constantly improving our programs \n\nResearch and data collection (10%)Conducting paint studies: finding and purchasing paints, preparing samples, and sending them to the lab, in collaboration with government partners\nPreparing study reports and summarising existing literature\n\nRecruitment, partnership building and management (5%)Recruiting local consultants and/or building partnerships with local organisations, and managing these relationships\n\nEngage in weekly all-hands calls, program team meetings and 1-1s with your manager (10%)\nWhat We’re Looking For\nPassion for LEEP’s mission and a strong commitment to achieving meaningful, scalable impact\nDemonstrated ability to build trust with diverse stakeholders, understand their perspectives, address concerns and work towards shared objectives\nExcellent communication skills, written and verbal\nExperience engaging and working effectively with government institutions in Indonesia, with an understanding of how to navigate institutional priorities, stakeholder relationships and decision-making processes\nAbility to identify barriers to progress, exercise sound judgement and develop practical solutions in ambiguous environments\nStrong prioritisation skills, with a clear sense of how work ties into LEEP’s broader goals\nEnterprising, a quick learner, and creative problem-solver\nComfort with risk and ambiguity, and working with a high level of self-direction\nAbility to remain focused and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment\nAbility to work independently in a remote, international team while collaborating effectively with colleagues and external partners\nWilling to travel for at least 8 to 12 weeks per year (mostly within Indonesia)\nFull professional proficiency in English \nOther promising attributes:\nFull professional proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is preferred but not required\nExperience living and/or working in low- and middle-income countries \n\nWork Environment\nOur culture is one of genuine care for each other and passion for our work and its impact.
