This role translates business and customer requirements into accurate, well-performing, and well-documented reports; supports and monitors the reporting platform; and partners with business analysts, customer service, and sales to improve the value of Century's reporting services. The Report Developer II works with a high degree of independence, contributes to reporting standards, and helps train and mentor junior team members.\nReport Development & Maintenance\nDesign, develop, and maintain complex operational, analytical, and customer-facing reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), adhering to Century's reporting standards.\n\nTranslate business and customer reporting requirements into clear technical specifications for reports, datasets, and data visualizations.\n\nEnsure the accuracy, completeness, relevancy, and timeliness of reports through thorough testing, validation, and regression testing prior to production deployment.\n\nMaintain comprehensive documentation for each report, including associated SQL objects, schedules, delivery mechanisms, and stakeholder contacts.\n\nFollow company source control standards (Git) to version, manage, and deploy report code and datasets.\nMaintain and enhance reporting development standards, templates, and best-practice documentation.\n\nT-SQL & Database Development\nWrite highly optimized T-SQL, including Common Table Expressions (CTEs), window functions, pivots/unpivots, complex joins, and index-aware query design.\n\nCreate, modify, and maintain SQL Server database objects required for reporting, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and indexes.\n\nRetrieve and combine data from multiple operational and analytical sources (SQL Server and, where required, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle) to support reporting needs.\n\nOptimize report and query performance by analyzing execution plans, indexing strategies, and underlying data models.\n\nReporting Platform & Technical Support\nSupport and maintain the SSRS environment, including data-driven subscriptions, scheduled and automated report delivery, and folder-level security.\n\nMonitor reporting servers and processes for exceptions and performance issues; resolve immediate issues and implement preventive improvements.\n\nProvide troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and technical support for report-related incidents and data accuracy defects.\n\nAccurately update, manage, and close out assigned tasks and tickets in Jira in accordance with service expectations.\n\nParticipate in the 24x7 support rotation for reporting platforms as required.\n\nImprove the quality, security, and controls of Century's reporting environment to protect sensitive and confidential data.\n\nCommunication, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement\nCollaborate with business analysts, internal stakeholders, and customers to gather requirements and deliver effective reporting solutions.\n\nClearly communicate report functionality, enhancements, and limitations to business, customer service, and sales teams, including across time zones.\n\nPrepare sample or prototype reports to support sales demonstrations and customer engagements.\n\nTrain and support end users in accessing, understanding, and effectively using reports.\n\nAssist with training and mentoring Report Developer team members and cross-train with peers to provide coverage.\n\nStay current with SQL Server, SSRS, and data visualization trends; leverage modern and AI-assisted tools where appropriate to improve productivity, quality, and consistency.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\nTo excel in this role, you should possess:\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\n3+ years of experience developing reports with SSRS and T-SQL in a production business environment.\n\nWorking knowledge of relational database design, data warehousing concepts, and ETL processes.\n\nRequired Skills\nAdvanced to expert proficiency in SSRS, including report design, subscriptions, and server administration.\n\nAdvanced T-SQL skills, including query optimization and development of reusable database objects.\n\nExperience retrieving data from multiple database platforms (SQL Server required; PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle a plus).\n\nWorking knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and Power BI.\n\nExperience with source control (Git) and ticketing/project tools (Jira).\n\nPreferred Skills:\nExperience with Power BI.\n\nFamiliarity with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred).\n\nSupply chain, logistics, or 3PL industry experience.\n\nSoft Skills:\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.\n\nFluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills;
