A better future?\nJob Description\nMaintenance Technician (Electrician)\nOrion Plant - Auburn Hills, MI\nThe primary responsibilities of this role are to repair, install, and maintain mechanical/electrical components on plant machinery, utilities, and equipment. Additionally, the maintenance team supports the entire facility, providing opportunities to learn and develop skills in a variety of industrial maintenance disciplines. This position requires the employee to safely troubleshoot, repair, install, maintain, and work on industrial electrical systems and equipment operating at voltages up to and including 480 VAC three-phase power distribution systems.\nThe Role:\nExecute work orders and complete documentation as required.\nMaintain electrical/mechanical equipment or apparatus by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for mechanical failures.\nInstall and repair electrical/electronic equipment such as wiring devices, motors, transformers, starters, circuit breakers, relays, circuit boards, motor drives, PLC modules, etc.\nMaintain, install, diagnose, repair, and monitor HVAC equipment, boilers, air compressors, water treatment, lint systems, fire protection equipment, and utilities in the plant structure.\nPerform preventative maintenance per schedules and standards.\nFoster a culture of safety awareness through correct and proper maintenance processes, procedures and actions.\nPhysical Requirements:\nStanding for long periods of time, climbing stairs or ladders, bending/crouching.\nThe ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.\nWorking at heights when needed\nYour Qualifications:\n3+ Years of experience in the manufacturing maintenance field.\nAbility to use electrical testing equipment to verify the absence or presence of voltage on circuits up to 480 VAC.\nAbility to safely work around and troubleshoot industrial equipment utilizing 480 VAC electrical systems.\nAbility to use a computer and Microsoft Office programs.\nEffectively organize, set priorities, schedule assigned work; oversee multiple and rapidly changing priorities.\nKnowledge of industrial electrical systems including 480 VAC three-phase power distribution, motor controls, electrical panels, transformers, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and electrical safety practices.\nKnowledge of OSHA electrical safety requirements, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and arc-flash awareness.\nProfessional verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work independently and as a team\nCan perform tasks associated with installation of new equipment (bending conduit, pulling wire, installing disconnects, assessing phase/voltage/grounding)\nBonus If You Have:\nTechnical or Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electronics or related field.\nExperience with Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, etc.)\nExperience with Robotics (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa)\nExperience with HMI systems and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.)\nKnowledge of safety standards (machine safety, guarding, interlocks)\nLean / TPM experience\nJourneymen’s Card\nExperience in Automotive Manufacturing\nEducation Requirements\nGED or High School Diploma\nBenefits\nDental insurance\nEmployee assistance program\nHealth insurance\nVision insurance\nTuition Reimbursement\nPaid time off\nCompensation Data\nOvertime opportunities available\nPay: $35/hr\n1st Shift/Mid Shift until Q1 of 2027, then the role will transition to second shift based on business needs.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nLear Corporation is committed to fair, merit-based employment practices and equal opportunity.\n\nWe provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.
