The role focuses on improving application development efficiency, advancing modern software engineering practices, and accelerating the adoption of containerized and cloud-based solutions to enhance scalability, reliability, and operational performance across manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will work with application development teams to modernize existing solutions, introduce new technologies and development practices, and help establish a flexible application architecture that supports the evolving needs of manufacturing operations.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and modernize applications supporting shop-floor and manufacturing operations.\nHelp transition appropriate applications from traditional deployment models to containerized environments.\nSupport the adoption of modern application architectures and cloud-native development practices.\nDevelop applications and services using .NET, C#, and modern web technologies.\nEvaluate and implement container technologies and orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.\nSupport deployment of applications to Linux-based and containerized environments.\nIdentify opportunities to modernize legacy shop-floor applications while maintaining compatibility with existing manufacturing systems.\nDevelop reusable components, services, APIs, and common frameworks to improve development efficiency across multiple applications.\nHelp establish standards and best practices for application architecture, containerization, configuration, logging, monitoring, and deployment.\nCollaborate with development, infrastructure, manufacturing, and architecture teams to deliver solutions that meet plant requirements.\nSupport integration between shop-floor applications and enterprise or manufacturing systems using APIs, messaging, databases, and other integration technologies.\nParticipate in proof-of-concept initiatives to evaluate new technologies before broader production adoption.\nTroubleshoot application and deployment issues across development, test, and manufacturing environments.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation covering application architecture, deployment, configuration, and operational support.\nYour Qualifications\nExperience with containerization and container platforms.\nExperience developing enterprise applications using C# and .NET.\nExperience with web application development and modern application architectures.\nUnderstanding of REST APIs, web services, and application integration patterns.\nExperience working with relational databases and SQL.\nUnderstanding of source control and modern software development practices.\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills.\nAbility to work collaboratively across application development and infrastructure teams.\nExperience supporting applications in production or other business-critical environments.\nBonus If You Have\nExperience in one or more of the following areas would be beneficial:\nDocker or other container technologies\nKubernetes or OpenShift\nLinux application hosting\nASP.NET Core or Blazor\nMicroservices and service-oriented architectures\nCI/CD pipelines and automated deployments\nRabbitMQ or other messaging technologies\nRESTful API development and integration\nCloud or hybrid-cloud application environments\nManufacturing or shop-floor application development\nApplication monitoring and observability\nPostgreSQL, MongoDB database knowledge and experience\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nLear Corporation is committed to fair, merit-based employment practices and equal opportunity.\nWe provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.
