A better future?\nJob Description\nCONTROLS ENGINEER 2ND SHIFT\nFLINT, MI\nAs a member of the Auburn Hills team, the Controls Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing program changes to reduce machine downtime and improve system efficiency. Support department goals as established. As well as responsible for maintaining machinery systems in a J.I.T. or complex assembly plant environment.\nThe Role:\nDevelops and implements software and hardware changes to improve efficiency and quality.\nTroubleshooting and programming of PLC’s to resolve problems, improve efficiency and quality.\nInstruct and coordinate the activities of all personnel in the department to maintain top efficiency and productivity.\nContact and coordinate work with outside contractors, vendors, and suppliers.\nWork with other departments to ensure optimal performance of production line. \nImplement improvement plans and activities.\nMaintain accurate records of part specific parameters and changes.\nRequisition tools, equipment and supplies.\nResponsible for setting up and maintaining adequate parts and supplies to minimize production downtime.\nMaintain accurate records of machines and other assets with regards to repair, drawings, diagrams and manuals and preventive maintenance program.\nAssist in launch programs as necessary.\nResponsible for housekeeping of area.\nParticipate in continuous improvement activities and self directed work team model.\nFollow ISO14001 and TS16949 procedures/processes.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nInterpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations.\nEnsure plant security is maintained.\nResponsibilities\nYour Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree (BAS); three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience with PLC’s required (ControlLogix, MicroLogix, and CompactLogix - Rockwell software) - must be able to understand ladder logic and make programming changes. Siemens programming experience a plus.\nExperienced in programming of HMI’s (Panelview, etc)\nExperience with automation equipment (Fanuc / ABB Robots and Vision Systems).\nExperience with electric torque control equipment (Atlas Copco / Stanley)\nBonus If You Have:\nAutomated Guided Vehicles (AGV/AMR) experience\nMentor and Train plant controls engineers and support production as needed.\nCommunicate across cross functional groups\nSupport Kaizen, Improvement walks, and Error proofing projects\nWillingness to work any shift and support off-shift production, shutdowns, and launch activities.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nLear Corporation is committed to fair, merit-based employment practices and equal opportunity.\nWe provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.
