A better future?\nJob Description\nWe are looking for a technically minded Junior CTO Datamining Engineer to join our Cost Technology Optimisation team. This role focuses on understanding complete automotive seating systems, analysing product design and technology trends, and supporting cost optimisation activities throughout the product lifecycle.\nWorking alongside subject matter experts, you will investigate seating technologies, analyse competitor products, support benchmark activities, and contribute valuable technical insights used during customer quotations, product development, and production phases.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior engineer who enjoys understanding how products are designed and built and who is interested in automotive technologies.\nComprehensive training on seating systems, seat integration, cost analysis, and market research methodologies will be provided.\nResponsibilities\nSupport all project phases including RFIs, RFQs, product development, and serial production activities.\nInvestigate and document automotive seating systems and their individual components.\nSupport cost analysis and cost optimisation activities for complete seat systems.\nParticipate in CTO (Cost Technology Optimisation) workshops and technical reviews.\nResearch automotive market trends, competitor technologies, and future seating innovations.\nConduct benchmark analysis and technical comparisons of automotive seating solutions.\nCollaborate with engineering, commercial, and manufacturing teams across global locations.\nPrepare technical reports, presentations, and supporting documentation in English.\nAnalyse technical drawings, specifications, and 3D models to support engineering studies.\nAssist with physical seat evaluations, inspections, and component investigations when required.\nMaintain accurate technical data, project documentation, and cost-related records.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on product cost, performance, and design efficiency.\nExperience Requirements\nEssential\nSecondary technical education or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.\nAbility to read and understand technical drawings and engineering documentation.\nBasic understanding of mechanical products and assemblies.\nComfort working with physical products and tools during technical investigations.\nGood knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.\nStrong attention to detail and data accuracy.\nAnalytical mindset with a structured approach to problem solving.\nEnglish language skills at B1/B2 level or above.\nStrong communication and teamwork abilities.\nNice to Have\n\nInterest in automotive technologies and vehicle development.\nFamiliarity with CAD models or 3D engineering data.\nPrevious exposure to manufacturing, engineering, automotive, or technical environments.\nExperience with technical data analysis, cost analysis, or benchmarking activities.\nKnowledge of automotive seating systems or interior products.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nLear Corporation is committed to fair, merit-based employment practices and equal opportunity.\nWe provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.
