A better future?\nJob Description\nNEW CAREER OPPORTUNITY | OPERATIONS MANAGER\nSAN LUIS POTOSI, S.L.P.\nAre you a results-driven operations leader with a strong background in automotive manufacturing and customer-focused execution? Join our team and play a key role in supporting our BMW operations. In this position, you will lead manufacturing operations, drive strategic initiatives, strengthen operational excellence, and deliver business objectives through disciplined execution, people development, and close alignment with customer expectations.\nResponsibilities\nMonitor and improve key operational KPIs, including OEE, scrap, productivity, efficiency, PPM, delivery performance, absenteeism, and turnover.\nLead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, waste reduction, and structured problem solving.\nManage new project launches, SOP readiness, ramp-up activities, line transfers, and operational readiness for customer programs.\nPromote and maintain best manufacturing practices across the plant. \nEnsure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and regulatory standards. \nStrengthen the plant safety culture, reduce incidents, and ensure compliance with EHS standards and internal safety systems.\nDevelop, coach, and mentor team members, building a high-performance culture and a strong talent pipeline. \nFoster strong customer relationships while ensuring exceptional service and operational performance. \nManage - prevent customer escalations, audits, containment actions, 8D problem solving, war rooms, and recovery plans to restore operational performance.\nLead organizational readiness and execution of strategies to achieve short- and long-term goals.\nOversee operational cost control, budget adherence, productivity actions, headcount optimization, and CAPEX/OPEX discipline.\nSkills\nRoot Cause Analysis\nMultilingualism\nMaterial Requirements Planning\nAnalytical Skills\nRecord Keeping\nKaizen Methodology\nCooperation\nEducation Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.\nStrong understanding of automotive quality standards, including IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plan, and continuous improvement methodologies.\nExperience Requirements\nMinimum of 5 years of experience as an Operations Manager or in a senior manufacturing leadership role within an automotive manufacturing environment.\nExperience working directly with German automotive customers. \nExperience managing / preventing customer escalations, automotive audits, 8D methodology, containment activities, and performance recovery plans.\nExperience in JIT/JIS manufacturing environments is highly desirable, particularly in operations supporting premium automotive customers.\nStrong knowledge of internal logistics, material flow, inventory control, sequencing, production planning, and delivery performance in JIT/JIS operations.\nExperience managing operational budgets, cost reduction initiatives, productivity improvements, headcount planning, and basic financial indicators.\nHands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing tools, Kaizen, 5S, value stream mapping, waste reduction, and structured problem-solving methodologies.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary teams across production, quality, maintenance, engineering, logistics, and continuous improvement.\nProven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, engage, and develop teams. \nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills. \nExperience with ERP, SAP, MES, or similar production management systems.\nAdvanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, regional teams, and senior BMW stakeholders.\nAvailability to support critical operational needs, customer audits, shift changes, and urgent production situations when required.\nCertifications / Licenses\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nLear Corporation is committed to fair, merit-based employment practices and equal opportunity.\nWe provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.
