A better future?\nJob Description\nPRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - 2ND SHIFT\nROSCOMMON, MI - ROSCOMMON PLANT\nSupervision of manufacturing personnel and operation, assuring that quality, safety, productivity, schedule and delivery goals are met on a daily basis. Ensure production employees have the necessary training, tools and equipment to perform a quality job within allotted time periods.\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nEnsure manpower is at optimum levels, including vacation scheduling, and adjust schedule as necessary in case of material or people shortages. Ensure that production is taking place in a timely and orderly fashion.\nBe fair and consistent when dealing with all people, policies, contract, discipline, etc. and treat people with respect.\nTrain and develop subordinates; mediate conflicts (listen, coach, mentor.) quality standards.\nEnsure that parts produced are correct and labeled properly, meeting all quality standards.\nEnsure a safe working environment, and that employees are using safe working methods (including rotation).\nProvide current, up-to-date schedule to operators.\nEnsure inter-and intra- shift and department communication (internal customers, suppliers, scheduling, etc.) and keep operators informed.\nImprove and maintain housekeeping.\nAccurately complete timecards. Assure overtime equalization. Account for all scrap and lost time.\nMonitor maintenance needs, write work orders, coordinate repairs as needed.\nKnowledge of machines, fixtures, tools, and ability to advise, set up and make minor adjustments as necessary.\nDemonstrate applicable processes for training purposes as required.\nKnowledge and communication of all emergency procedures.\nKnowledge and implementation of TS16949 procedures.\nLiaison with planner as to inventory levels of material/finished product.\nMaintain production records, and supply time and attendance records to HR.\nLead and participate in 8D problem solving meetings.\nSpecial projects as assigned\nCarries out assigned functions described in Policies, Procedures, and Quality Manuals. Implements TS16949 procedures.\nMake recommendations, plans and suggestions that promote continuous improvement throughout the organization.\nSupports and Participates in Continuous Improvement activities.\nFollow systems for TS16949 and ISO14001\nQualifications\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nFour-year degree in related field and/or three years of automotive experience. \nKnowledge of metal stamping, welding, JIT assembly and labor relations would be a plus. \nStrong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are required.\nOversee hourly production personnel, communicate company policies and procedures, monitor housekeeping standards, TS 16949 and ISO14001 compliance and ensure quality objectives are met. \nMust be able to work in a team environment.\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nLear Corporation is committed to fair, merit-based employment practices and equal opportunity.\nWe provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.
