Job Description
As a member of the Purchasing team, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for driving material cost reductions, executing strategic sourcing initiatives, leading supplier negotiations, proactively identifying supply chain risks, and supporting tariff mitigation activities, including supplier resourcing. The job holder will be responsible for all tactical aspects of supply chain procurement methodologies required to support plant and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Leads development and implementation of cost saving programs
- Manages sourcing selection of material with best-in-class cost and quality
- Negotiates long term agreements
- Develops strategies to achieve current and long-term results
- Has familiarity with commercial terms and total cost management concepts
- Ability to work in a highly productive, constantly changing environment
- Key competencies for success in position include:
- Negotiating principles/skills
- High level of integrity
- Priority setting and time management
- Action oriented/produces results
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Conducts necessary visits to Lear or supplier plants (<10>
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing experience
- Automotive cross functional experience
