A better future?\nJob Description\nAs a development engineer for Covers, you will be independently responsible for the development of seat covers from the quotation phase through to series production readiness and, if necessary, series production support in the trim and foam specialist group. You will act as an interface to the overall seat development team as well as to our JIT and sewing plants.\nResponsibilities\nIntegrated into our project teams, the following tasks await you:\nControl and management of development and component suppliers in coordination with customers\nPlanning of the required development needs together with the departments trim shop, test and prototyping\nReview and evaluation of the customer's specification requirements\nLeading and coordinating the cutting investigations together with the trim developers\nCreation and coordination of schedules/timings\nMonitoring of the development with the design to cost principle\nSupporting Sales and Program Management with change management and cost evaluation\ncomponent release with at the complete seating team and customer\nRegular reviews of development progress\nEvaluation, documentation, and implementation of change scopes\nProduct data management in the PLM (Product Life Cycle) system\nResponsibility for the creation and maintenance of the part life cycle\nReview and approval of 2D drawings in coordination with the customer\nRoute cause and quality analyses in the project team (8D report)\nMaterial definition of the product and corresponding release processes OEM and automotive specific\nMonitoring of the industrialization process at the sewing suppliers\nDefinition of materials, review and development of materials together with supplier and customer\nReview of 3D Models, support of the digital development within the early development phase\nExperience Requirements\nCompleted technical studies preferably in the field of textile technology or many years of professional experience\nFirst work experience in the automotive industry is an advantage\nGood material knowledge of cover materials as well as knowledge of the production process\nExperience in the quality processes is desirable\nVery good knowledge of English, both written and spoken; knowledge of German is an advantage.\nProactivity and innovative thinking\nHigh degree of self-organization and willingness to make decisions independently\nEqual Opportunity Employer\nLear Corporation is committed to fair, merit-based employment practices and equal opportunity.\nWe provide reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable law.
