A better future?\nWe're Lear For You.\nWARP KNIT & INNOVATION ENGINEER\nKENANSVILLE, NC\nTo aid in the overall product creation and design of warp knitted fabrics within Guilford, through an understanding of warp knit machinery, fabric constructions, yarn and fibre technologies, global automotive and general design trends. Technically design the construction of fabrics to meet aesthetic, performance and manufacturing cost requirements, working closely with global engineering, design and sales departments. For advanced innovation, work with suppliers of raw materials, machinery and outside processors to develop out of the box ideas for automotive textiles.\nResponsibilities\nInterpretation of OEM and internal design briefs with creative flair into viable constructions.\nWork with design, sales and engineering teams to create new and innovative products which meet customer expectations for design, aesthetics, technical performance and cost targets from design brief through to business award and launch.\nDetermine optimum raw materials and constructions for each individual development.\nReview the outcome of each trial for appearance, test performance and manufacturing feasibility, devise improvements and countermeasures as necessary.\nWork with the engineering team to establish optimum finishing routes for each product.\nMaintain detailed records of trials and communicate any issues with all relevant parties.\nWork with yarn suppliers to drive development of new raw materials.\nWork with engineering, design and sales teams to develop advanced innovative products.\nDevelop and maintain contacts within the textile industry to facilitate advanced innovation developments.\nQualifications:\nGCSE Math, English and Science\nKey Skills:\nTextile Innovation experience. \nWarp knit manufacturing and development of construction\nHighly self-motivated.\nPractically minded - combination of science and creativity.\nHigh level of flexibility.\nAbility to multi-task. \nAbility to work without close supervision.\nGood communication skills at all levels.\nMS Office computer skills. \nPositive attitude and adaptable to change.\nHigh degree of accuracy.\nAbility to follow detailed work instruction and technical documentation.\nLear Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse workplace.\nApplicants must submit their resume for consideration using our applicant tracking system.
