You will own work from early design through to release, working closely with product, design and senior leadership to turn roadmap goals into software customers use.\nThis role helps the team ship faster without lowering quality. You will lead complex projects end to end, raise the standard of design and code through review and mentoring, and use AI tools to speed up delivery.\nKey Responsibilities\nOwn the design and delivery of maintainable, well-engineered software across the Build product, balancing immediate needs with long-term technical health\nLead task planning, estimation and scheduling, and keep documentation current throughout\nTranslate product and business goals into clear engineering solutions, proving out complex functionality with real data before release\nFind the root cause of complex issues and deliver permanent fixes, spotting risks before they become problems\nMentor less experienced engineers and raise the quality of design and delivery across the team\nWork with engineering, product and design to align on shared goals and keep delivery on track\nUse AI tools and introduce new technologies where they help the team deliver faster\nRequirements\nSkills and Experience\nRequired:\n5+ years as a software engineer, with a track record of owning and delivering complex projects end to end\nStrong JavaScript and ReactJS, including state management (e.g. Redux, Context API), component-based architecture, design systems, CSS and front end debugging\nStrong PHP, ideally with Symfony and/or Doctrine, and Python in a backend or data-oriented context\nExperience with relational, NoSQL and document-oriented databases and query design in high performance environments\nGood knowledge of design patterns and back end architecture\nExperience writing unit, integration and frontend tests, working with Docker, and giving strong code reviews\nExperience mentoring engineers and working in agile teams\nClear verbal and written communication, adjusted to the audience\nNice to Have:\nCommercial experience with AI tools and concepts\nExperience or interest in API design\nExperience with TDD\nExperience setting up or configuring CI/CD pipelines\nExperience with Node.js\nB.Sc or M.Sc in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar\nKey Behaviours\nOwns work from first idea to release and follows through on commitments\nBrings clarity to complex or ambiguous problems, makes sound technical decisions and explains the trade-offs\nProves out complex functionality with real data and tunes it until the results hold up\nAdapts quickly as priorities and tools change, and tries new approaches, including AI, to deliver faster\nShares knowledge openly and helps others succeed, in line with our value that our success is better shared\nPicks the long-term fix over the quick patch when it matters\nSuccess in this Role\nIn the first 6-12 months, success in this role would look like:\nOwned and released at least one complex Build feature end to end, from design through to customers using it\nBecame a trusted reviewer and mentor for less experienced engineers in the team\nBuilt strong working relationships with product, design and engineering leads on the Build roadmap\nFound and permanently fixed the root cause of recurring issues in an area of the codebase you own\nIntroduced or improved a practice the team now relies on, such as AI-assisted development, testing or CI/CD\nBenefits\nOur Values\nWe are a values-driven company, and how we work matters as much as what we build:\nWe live to learn\nWe aim higher\nWe do the right thing\nOur success is better shared\nBenefits\nAnnual leave \nMilestone leave\nPaid sick leave\nGenerous parental leave\nHealth & dental insurance\nPension contributions\nLearning & development support\nEmployee Assistance Program\nFlexible work practices\nCommuter benefits\nModern city-centre office\nLocation & Working Style\nThis role is based in our Dublin office.
