This hybrid role combines building and developing solutions to improve the platform plus supporting and maintaining the live system.\nWhat You'll Do:\nBuild, Maintain and improve a modern, highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS to support our next generated of AI-powered products.\nUse AI tools to empower your productivity and make you more successful\nProvide an end-to-end infrastructure provisioning, configuration and release ecosystem to support an AI-first Engineering team and the incredible rate of change and release schedule they need to achieve\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of our products.\nRequirements:\nAt least 6+ years of experience developing and working with large-scale production systems.\nEngineering\nStrong proficiency in Python\n2 years development expertise in at least one programming language beyond scripting, ideally PHP or Python.\nAdvanced proficiency in POSIX shell scripting, including skills in using awk, sed, grep, etc.\nExperienced using GitHub, particularly GitHub Actions and Workflows\nStrong version control skills using Git.\nSystems\nAdvanced Linux skills including iptables, systemd, logging, application management, diagnosis, sysctl tweaking, etc.\nHighly experienced with Docker and containerised applications and systems\nStrong experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Troposphere or Terraform) for provisioning and managing scalable cloud infrastructure across multiple environments.\nExpertise in configuration management and automation using SaltStack or similar tools, including configuration development, system orchestration, and deployment automation.\nExperienced with AWS services including EC2, ALB/NLB, VPCs, IAM, RDS, ECS, Route53, and CloudFront.\nSome experience with large-scale databases and database administration, ideally MariaDB & PostgreSQL on Amazon RDS\nFamiliarity with metrics/monitoring systems, ideally Datadog and CloudWatch.\nAttention to detail and ability to read and contribute to documentation thoroughly.\nConscientiousness, strong documentation skills, and openness to feedback.\nExperience leading projects, including planning, orchestration, migration, deployment, and delivery.\nNice to Have:\nStrong networking background, including understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols\nStrong database background, with experience in optimising database performance and resolving performance issues.\nBenefits\nOur Values\nWe are a values-driven company, and how we work matters as much as what we build:\nWe live to learn\nWe aim higher\nWe do the right thing\nOur success is better shared\nBenefits\nAnnual Leave\nMilestone Leave\nPaid sick leave\nGenerous parental leave\nHealth & dental insurance\nPension contributions\nLearning & development support\nEmployee Assistance Program\nFlexible work practices\nCommuter benefits\nModern office\nLocation & Working Style\nOur team is based in Sydney, NSW.
