If you:\nAre passionate about using technology to have a massive impact in Education, and are excited about using AI to accelerate that mission.\nAre eager to work with stakeholders across the business, from our CEO to key stakeholders in our product organization, to get things done \nKnow how to build and architect software to get from zero to released\nHave a keen eye for how to prove out complex functionality with real data, and how to tweak and tune to get the best results\nAre always eager to roll up your sleeves and dig in at all stages of the software and product lifecycle - from high level ideation, to working through user stories with the teams to get the product into the hands of users\nUnderstand the flexibility needed to release product in the fastest-changing technology landscape that we’ve ever seen before\nThen we’d love to talk with you!\nRequirements\nCore Goals and Responsibilities:\nDesign, implement, modify, and support the development of software for Learnosity’s Upskill product\nThis is a hands-on role. You’ll write production Python every day, and you’ll take on the highest-risk and most ambiguous parts of Upskill, taking them from zero to released.\nDiagnose complex issues across the stack and ship permanent fixes rather than workarounds.\nSupport and enable three Engineering pods to ensure architectural best practices\nAct as a technical sounding board to the VP of Engineering and Engineering Team Leads\nContribute to task planning, estimation, and scheduling, working closely with other teams and management to deliver projects from inception to completion, and ensure documentation is kept up to date.\nWork closely with multiple engineering pods to assist with consistent architectural and development practices\nDetermine root cause for complex software issues and develop practical, efficient, and permanent technical solutions.\nExperience and Skills\nMust haves:\nStrong understanding and experience with agile frameworks and practices.\nStrong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.\n10+ years working with Python\nExperience with various database technologies (relational, nosql, document-oriented, etc) and query concepts in high performance environments\nExperience setting up or configuring CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.\nGreat knowledge of design patterns and back end architecture best practices\nStrong code review skills\nExperience mentoring junior developers\nIt would be great if you had:\nA B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a similar discipline.\nExperience with Spec Driven Development\nExperience with Terraform and Kubernetes, along with a solid grasp of cloud-native best practices\nExperience with Typescript and front end technologies\nHands-on experience with at least one of the following: leading a migration off a legacy system, building a product or service from scratch and taking it through to production, or scaling an application to meet significant growth in demand.\nBenefits\nValues\nWe are a values-based company, and our 4 core values are the basis for how we work and what we do every day.
