Improve change-over times and efficiencies.\nPossess advanced quality capability of processes and advanced troubleshooting skills of machine issues that involve quality, equipment set up, technical issues, etc.\nCreate and edit manufacturing process documentation.\nMaintain appropriate tooling levels for support area utilizing min/max or kanban systems management.\nOrder and manage tooling to support area production.\nHold major role in process development in assigned department.\nProficient at all Process Technician level I duties and expectations.\nPerform machine crash investigation in conjunction with manufacturing engineering.\nCollaborate with Engineering and Safety department to ensure safe interaction between operators and machinery and processes.\nHazardous Waste Responsibilities \nFollows all company procedures and regulatory requirements for the handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous waste materials.\nUnderstands and complies with applicable federal, state (Oregon DEQ), and local regulations concerning hazardous materials and waste.\nMaintains appropriate documentation and labeling on all hazardous materials and containers.\nUses personal protective equipment (PPE) as required when handling hazardous substances.\nReports spills, unsafe conditions, or incidents involving hazardous waste to the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team immediately.\nParticipates in hazardous waste and safety training provided by the company.\nAdditional Functions\nPerforms employee development training and machinery certifications through collaboration with MFG Training Coordinator as needed.\nPerforms new machine run-offs as needed.\nSupport new tooling qualifications and adjust and modify tool settings on equipment due to wear, breakage, or quality issues as needed.\nParticipate in Kaizen events and projects.\nCompetencies\nCollaborates - Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.\nCommunicates effectively - Develop and deliver a variety of communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.\nCultivates innovation - Create new and better ways for the organization to be successful.\nCustomer focus - Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.\nDrives results - Consistently achieve results, even under tough circumstances.\nEnsures accountability - Hold self and others accountable to meet commitments.\nInstills trust - Gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.\nManages complexity - Make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.\nOptimizes work processes - Know the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement. \nResourcefulness - Secure and deploy resources effectively and efficiently.\nSelf-development - Actively seek new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.\nTech savvy - Anticipate and adopt innovations in business-building digital and technology applications.\nExperience and Education\nHigh School diploma or GED required.\nTwo years formal technical training and three year’s work experience in manufacturing environment or four years technical job experience required. \nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.\nAbility to read, comprehend, speak and write English at a level to effectively utilize and interpret SDS’s, work instructions, technical manuals, OHSA and Federal\nAbility to effectively utilize intermediate shop math and intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office.\nIntermediate knowledge of blueprint reading required.\nKnowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and basic problem-solving skills preferred.\nIntermediate mechanical knowledge required. Must be familiar with and able to set up and change over various types of equipment. \nStrong understanding of measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers and comparators.\nMust participate in and be successful with basic SolidWorks, machine shop ordering process.\nParticipate in mechanical engineering mentor program including several fixture design projects.\nOne year of formal technical training plus two years of manufacturing experience, or three years of technical job experience in a manufacturing environment. \nPhysical Demands\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; balance; use hands to finger, handle, grasp, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, some overhead. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.; sit; climb; twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.\nWorking Conditions/Physical Hazards\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a production environment with regular exposure to noise, liquid grinding coolant mist and vapor, dust and lubricants managed through an exhaust system.
