Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, you will lead a high performing team responsible for project budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and earned value reporting.Apply today to join our Infrastructure team in Whitby, Ontario!\nEssential Responsibilities:\nEstablish and monitor project budgets, track productivity, and conduct financial updates as required.\nFacilitate and participate in project audits.\nOversee analysis and reporting of project performance key metrics (e.g. CPI, SPI, key commodity tracking, etc.); propose corrective actions to maintain performance/productivity; provide timely alerts on adverse trends.\nImplement & maintain an Earned Value Management plan to measure project performance, identify variances, and inform accurate forecasting.\nProvide support to Commercial & Procurement teams on subcontractor claims assessment and claims development.\nLead a team of Cost Controls staff specializing in cost control and change management.\nLead the development of project-specific Cost Controls plan, documenting processes and procedures to be followed on the project\nDevelop and maintain a risk management plan, ensuring mitigation strategies are effectively implemented.\nCollaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on objectives.\nFacilitate project meetings and support strategic planning efforts to optimize schedules and budgets.\nPrepare and present regular project status reports, highlighting progress, cost, and schedule performance.\nSupport management of change activities, including change orders, directives, and claims.\nMaintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure timely communication with all stakeholders.\nCreate, promote, and maintain a safe, open & respectful workplace culture and environment.\nProvide feedback & guidance to direct reports for annual goal setting; support in the establishment of individual career development plans and in identifying training & professional development opportunities.\nConduct annual performance reviews (with mid-year check-ins) & provide constructive feedback; implement performance improvement plans as needed with support from Human Resources.\nCollaborate with schedulers to align cost and schedule data for earned value analysis\nSupport schedule trends and forecast updates when required.\nQualifications:\n8+ years of experience in Project Controls for large-scale infrastructure projects with a major contractor.\nDegree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.\nProven expertise in cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and schedule integration for complex, multi-phase projects.\nStrong understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, risk management, and change control processes.\nDemonstrated experience working within collaborative delivery models such as CMAR, Alliance, or Target Price agreements.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6, and project management/financial systems (JDE ERP experience preferred).\nSkilled in developing and managing cost and schedule baselines, performance metrics, and progress reporting frameworks.\nExperienced in claims prevention, negotiation, and dispute resolution through proactive analysis and stakeholder engagement.\nEffective leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a track record of building high-performing, technically proficient teams.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and compliance.\nExcellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex data clearly to senior stakeholders.\nStrategic thinker who can align project controls with organizational objectives and long-term business goals.\nCommitted to continuous improvement, innovation, and driving best practices in project controls and execution.\nWorking Conditions:\nSite based position in Whitby, Ontario.\n#LI-NC1\n#LI-Onsite\nCompensation\n$102,150.00 - $136,200.00This is the expected base pay range for this role.
