You will play a key role in the execution and implementation of a diverse range of health and safety programs and can expect to work on challenging projects with diverse and collaborative teams to meet and exceed Ledcor’s safety standards.This position is site-based and the specific rotation schedule and project location will be determined based on project requirements.\nJoin our team on-site today!\nEssential Responsibilities:\nConduct inspections of the work area and meet with field supervisors to discuss any potential problems: help to ensure the adequate supply of safety equipment, such as protective equipment, fire extinguishers, respirators, etc.\n\nAdvise operations regarding Ledcor's Health and Safety Management System, based on a solid understanding of program execution throughout the project lifecycle\n\nMonitor compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements\n\nAssists in the coordination and completion of safe work procedures, hazard assessments, safety inspections, focus audits and incident investigations\n\nVerify compliance with leading and lagging indicators, including subcontractors as well as any identified corrective actions\n\nConduct the HS&E Orientation to employees and subcontractors during project onboarding\n\nProvide support to site leadership in the preparation of site-specific material for safety meetings and toolbox talks\n\nSupport the coordination, organization and delivery of project toolbox talks and safety meetings\n\nDevelop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents based on existing materials\n\nMonitor and report on the overall effectiveness of the overall implementation of project HS&E plans\n\nAudit the quality of the field level hazard assessments and incident investigation reports for accuracy and completeness\n\nAssist with the implementation of occupational hygiene practices and have awareness of medical screening programs\n\nQualifications:\n5+ years of related work experience in heavy civil, mining, or related industry\n\nMust hold a CRSP, Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, CSO or NCSO designation\n\nHas developed technical knowledge of common construction practices, techniques, and equipment within the Pipeline Construction and/or Pipeline Maintenance Industries\n\nAbility to effectively communicate and present information to the hourly workforce, while also effectively interacting with project management staff, clients, and customers\n\nAbility to provide a proactive approach to safety, to include identification of operational and organizational issues, as well as develop and implement strategies to solve them\n\nDemonstrated experience in risk assessment, program development, safety & health training, and accident investigation\n\nCapable of adapting information/style to the audience, explaining difficult information clearly, influencing, and persuading others towards consensus agreement in straightforward situations\n\nA strong team player attitude with the ability to effectively adjust to changing priorities and demands\n\nStrong communication and presentation skills\n\nStrong computer competency including experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel\n\nMust have and maintain a valid provincial driver’s license and driver's abstract\n\nSuccessful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements\n\nWork Conditions:\nFlexibility to travel to and work at various project sites will be required\n\nAdditional Information\nThe Ledcor Group of Companies is one of North America’s most diversified construction companies.
