You enjoy working at heights, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring that electrical and communication systems are installed safely and to industry standards.If you are safety driven, physically capable, experienced in power line construction or eager to develop in the trade, join our Utilities team in Ontario today!\nLearn more about working at Ledcor: Watch here.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nConstruct, install, inspect, and maintain overhead and underground power distribution systems\nOperate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment including bucket trucks, backhoes, trenchers, skid steers, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machines, and trackhoes\nTroubleshoot and repair distribution powerlines\nTransport materials used for the installation of electrical systems (overhead/underground)\nRead and interpret construction drawings, work plans, and schematics.\nTrack daily production, material usage, and support logistics and crew coordination\nFollow and promote strict safety practices, adhering to all OH&S standards\nTrain and support junior workers or apprentices on proper work practices\nQualifications:\nJourneyman Powerline Technician certification or enrollment/interest in a lineman apprenticeship program\n1-3 years of experience in powerline construction (or strong interest with technical training)\nAbility to climb poles using spikes and rigging and to work from bucket trucks or man-lifts\nStrong knowledge of distribution powerline construction methods, tools, and safety procedures\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents\nClass 5 driver’s license required: Class 1 or 3 preferred. Able and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver's Abstract\nPhysically able to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and work in varying weather conditions\nStrong communication and teamwork skills\nWork Conditions:\nOutdoor work in diverse and sometimes extreme weather\nOvertime and weekend work may be needed to meet project deadlines. Ability to work long shifts, 10-12 hour days, in all types of weather\nWorking outdoors in various weather conditions\nAbility to travel extensively across Ontario. Travel to job sites will be required depending on project location\nThis position is considered a safety sensitive position; all new hires will be required to complete a hearing screening\nCompensation\n$24.79 - $60.27 per hourThis is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.\nRemote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.\nWe are committed to the long-term success and wellbeing of our employees.
