This role keeps accounting records organized, enters routine information, and helps the team meet billing and payment deadlines. The position works under the direction of the Accounting Manager and supports the Accounting Specialist with assigned tasks.\nThis role is Part-Time and will be in office at our Downtown Fredericksburg Office. Exact schedule will be determined and expected working hours will be from 20 to 30 hours per week.\nKey Responsibilities\nSet up and maintain project and client records in BQE Core, including authorized billing terms, rates, and project information.\nOrganize and maintain electronic accounting files, including invoices, receipts, payment records, and supporting documentation.\nEnter routine vendor, client, and project information in BQE Core and other approved systems using established procedures.\nAssist with entering client payments and organizing deposit records; refer discrepancies to the Accounting Specialist or Manager.\nPrepare routine account statements and send approved payment reminders, route collection disputes, and questions to the Accounting Specialist.\nRespond to routine internal, client, and vendor inquiries and direct questions requiring accounting judgment to the appropriate team member.\nSupport reporting, month-end document collection, and other assigned accounting administrative tasks while protecting confidential information.\nSkills, Knowledge, Expertise\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nPrior administrative, data entry, bookkeeping, or accounting support experience.\nStrong organization, attention to detail, and accuracy when working with numbers and records.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, including basic spreadsheet entry and sorting.\nAbility to follow procedures, manage assigned deadlines, and recognize when a question needs review.\nProfessional communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive financial and employee information discreetly.\nExperience with ERP systems.\nExperience supporting an engineering, architecture, construction, or other professional services firm.\nBenefits for Part Time Roles\n6 days of PTO\n401k plan with up to 5% match\nContinuing education and certifications provided\nAnd many more great benefits including numerous sponsored company events\nThe compensation range for this position is $20 to $25 /hourly, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.
