Headquartered in Fredericksburg, Virginia, we serve clients throughout the Commonwealth and beyond\nThe Geotechnical/CMT Staff Engineer will work collaboratively with our knowledgeable geotechnical and materials testing/inspections departments and assist with a wide variety of projects for public and private sector clients. Some duties may include but not limited to; test boring/test pit observations, laboratory analysis, preparation of geotechnical reports/calculation, management of field staff, review of daily field reports.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare and review field reports, internal correspondence, and geotechnical engineering reports.\nPerform geotechnical analyses based on site conditions and requirements to support project designs.\nEvaluate laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.\nReview and interpret data and test results.\nPrepare technical proposals, cost estimates, plans, technical specifications, and reports, including day to day correspondence.\nDevelop and maintain clients and actively participate in professional and related industry organizations.\nSupport field instrumentation and monitoring activities.\nSupport the office's Geotechnical Engineering and CMT departments as required.\nFollow company safety standards, site safety standards, and provide all required permitting.\nContact vendors; research literature and regulatory requirements; prepare designs.\nSkills, Knowledge, Expertise\nBS in Civil Engineering or closely related field.\nFamiliarity with engineering and construction plans/specifications.\nPrior experience with subsurface exploration or construction inspection a plus.\nEIT working toward PE preferred.\nFamiliarity with geotechnical software (i.e., GeoSystems, Gint, L-Pile, MSEW, etc.) a plus.\nBenefits\n8 Paid Holidays\n15 days of PTO\nComprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage including a low cost employee medical option\nHSA and FSA plans available\nEmployer paid Short Term, Long Term, Life and AD&D Insurance plans\n401k plan with up to 5% match\nContinuing education and certifications provided\nAnd many more great benefits including numerous sponsored company events\nThe compensation range for this position is $65,000 to $115,000/annually, commensurate with experience, education and certifications.
