In this role, you will architect, build, and scale robust data pipelines and platforms that power LegalZoom’s products and analytics. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Data Science, Engineering, and Product to deliver high-impact solutions, mentor others on the data team, and drive technical excellence across the organization.\nYou will\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and well-tested data pipelines and ETL processes using dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, and Fivetran.\n\nArchitect net new data models to support business needs, ensuring high availability, performance, and extensibility.\n\nLead the adoption and integration of modern data engineering best practices, including CI/CD, data quality, and observability.\n\nCollaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, guide technical decisions, and deliver data solutions that align with business goals.\n\nMentor and guide other data engineers and data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.\n\nParticipate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.\n\nStay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, advocating for best practices.\n\nParticipate in an on-call rotation to address high priority incidents.\n\nOccasional travel may be required as needed.\n\nYou have\n7+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of building and maintaining complex data systems at scale.\n\nExpert-level proficiency in SQL, with deep experience in data modeling and transformation.\n\nHands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling.\n\nExperience orchestrating data workflows using Airflow.\n\nExperience building and maintaining data pipelines with Fivetran, including custom connector development.\n\nProficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.\n\nExperience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and modern data stack tools.\n\nStrong understanding of ETL/ELT best practices, data quality, and data governance.\n\nAbility to architect and deliver highly available, scalable, and extensible solutions.\n\nExcellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.\n\nExperience mentoring and leading engineering teams in an Agile environment.\n\nA strong understanding of business and product goals, and the ability to align your technical decisions to them.\n\nRemote employees should confirm that the internet service available has adequate bandwidth to support all work processes.\n\nThe salary range for this role is (140,500-249,700). Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: geographic location, work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. In addition, an annual bonus, incentive bonus and/or restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package.
