Legend Biotech is seeking a Head of Global Supply Chain, Procurement & Sourcing as part of the Technical Operations team based in either Bridgewater, NJ or Ghent, Belgium.

Role Overview

TheHead of Global Supply Chain, Procurement & Sourcing is the enterprise leader accountable for the end-to-end supply of products and materials, from supplier through manufacturing and distribution to the patient/customer. The role establishes and executes the global strategy for demand and supply planning, strategic sourcing, procurement, supplier management, inventory, logistics, distribution, and supply chain resilience.  TheHead of Global Supply Chain, Procurement & Sourcing ensures the organization has the capacity, materials, suppliers, and logistics capabilities required to support reliable supply, business growth, product launches, and long-term competitiveness.

The role is the senior executive owner of the company's external supply ecosystem, including strategic suppliers, critical raw materials, components, consumables, logistics providers, and other third-party services. The incumber will be a member of the GMS Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

Global Supply Chain Strategy

• Define and execute the global supply chain strategy aligned with business, portfolio, and patient/customer requirements.
• Establish the global operating model for planning, procurement, inventory, logistics, and supply chain execution.
• Develop a flexible and resilient supply network capable of supporting growth, launches, geographic expansion, and portfolio evolution.
• Establish global supply chain standards, governance, KPIs, and performance management.

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

• Own the global procurement and strategic sourcing strategy for materials, components, services, and critical external supply.
• Develop supplier strategies that balance cost, quality, capacity, resilience, innovation, and business continuity.
• Lead strategic sourcing, supplier selection, negotiations, contracting strategy, and long-term supplier relationship management.
• Establish and manage the strategic supplier portfolio, including supplier segmentation, performance management, risk mitigation, and development.
• Drive sustainable cost improvement, value creation, and competitive sourcing while maintaining quality and supply reliability.
• Partner with CMC, MSAT, Manufacturing, Quality, and External Manufacturing to ensure sourcing strategies support technical and manufacturing requirements.

Demand & Supply Planning

• Own the integrated demand and supply planning process, translating commercial requirements into executable supply plans.
• Lead S&OP / IBP and provide executive recommendations on demand, supply, capacity, inventory, and allocation trade-offs.
• Ensure alignment between commercial demand, internal and external manufacturing capacity, materials availability, and inventory strategy.

Inventory, Logistics & Distribution

• Establish the global strategy for inventory, logistics, warehousing, and distribution.
• Optimize inventory and working capital while maintaining required patient/customer service levels and supply resilience.
• Ensure reliable and compliant distribution across global markets, including temperature-controlled and time-critical supply where applicable.
• Drive improvements in logistics service, speed, reliability, and cost.

Launch & Lifecycle Supply

• Provide supply chain and procurement leadership for new product launches, capacity expansions, site transfers, and lifecycle changes.
• Ensure supplier capacity, materials, inventory, logistics, and distribution are ready to support commercial launches.
• Partner with CMC, MSAT, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial to ensure seamless transition from development to commercial supply.

Supply Chain Excellence & Digital Transformation

• Drive continuous improvement across cost, service, inventory, resilience, productivity, and cycle time.
• Establish end-to-end supply chain visibility through advanced planning, analytics, digital tools, and appropriate KPIs.
• Leverage data, automation, and AI to improve forecasting, sourcing, inventory optimization, supplier management, and supply chain decision-making.

Executive Leadership & Organization

• Build and lead a high-performing global organization across Supply Chain, Procurement, and Strategic Sourcing.
• Develop talent, organizational capabilities, and succession plans to support the company's growth and increasing supply chain complexity.
• Serve as a key member of the Global Manufacturing & Supply Leadership Team, contributing to enterprise strategy, portfolio decisions, capacity investments, and financial performance.
• Provide executive leadership with clear recommendations on cost, supply, capacity, supplier, inventory, and risk trade-offs.
• Build strategic relationships with critical suppliers and external partners and represent the company in senior external forums.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
• 20+ years of progressive experience in global supply chain, planning, operations, or pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical supply chain leadership, including significant executive experience.
• Proven experience leading complex global supply chains supporting commercial pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical products.
• Strong expertise in demand and supply planning, S&OP/IBP, inventory management, logistics, distribution, supply risk management, and network optimization.
• Demonstrated experience supporting global product launches and rapidly scaling supply networks.
• Experience with complex biologics, personalized medicines, cell & gene therapies, or other temperature-sensitive and time-critical products is highly desirable.
• Enterprise mindset and strong business judgment.
• Strategic and analytical thinking with strong decision-making capability.
• Ability to balance patient/customer service, supply risk, inventory, capacity, and cost.

The base pay range below is what Legend Biotech USA Inc. reasonably expects to offer at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. The company reserves the right to modify this range as needed and in accordance with applicable laws.

Other Types of Pay: Performance-based bonus and/or equity is available to employees in eligible roles.

Pay Range (Base Pay):

$271,800—$360,000 USD
