Join us!\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES\nThe Tucson Convention Center, including the Tucson Arena, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, and Leo Rich Theater, has an opening for a Groundskeeper. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nAssure proper routine maintenance and cleanliness for all outdoor spaces, including landscape & Hardscape, garages, Loading docks for pleasant appearance around the property.\nEmpty trash bins around the facility and compact.\nOperating and maintaining garden equipment as needed.\nOperate equipment such as light trucks, Golf Carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, power washers, Blowers & hand tools.\nPrepare and monitor outdoor function spaces for client’s needs.\nConduct minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.\nPerform removal of Graffiti, paint, and gum on property.\nEnsure grounds are free of weeds and dead plants.\nSkimming water fountains for debris.\nWater potted plants 2-3 times a week or as recommended.\nSet Irrigation scheduler timer based off event schedules.\nCoordinate and supervise maintenance projects with subcontractors when necessary.\nEstablish and maintain a good working relationship with subcontractors and vendors.\nAdjust parking lot spikes as needed for events.\nundefined\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nPossess sufficient hearing to clearly hear voices, alarms, bells, and horns.\nAbility to walk and stand for long periods of time on hard-surface floor.\nAbility to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions.\nAbility to recognize and use simple hand-held, manual and power tools needed for performance of general maintenance duties.\nEducation and Experience\nHigh school diploma or GED\n1-2 years janitorial/custodial experience required.\nGood leadership and communication skills necessary.\nSkills and Abilities:\nA minimum of 2 years' experience in a landscaping or groundskeeping role\nMust be able to safely operate maintenance equipment including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers.\nStrong knowledge of pest management and basic lawn maintenance\nExcellent organizational skills\nWorking knowledge of horticulture and historical site rules\nAbility to lift 20-30 pounds.\nExceptional communication and interpersonal skills\nAble to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.\nAbility to work in a variety of outside conditions for long periods of time.\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations\nNo certifications are required.\n\nPhysical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
