The role includes the development and implementation of policies related to network security, disaster recovery, and IT infrastructure, as well as analyzing resource utilization and developing strategies to optimize performance.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nDevelop network troubleshooting strategies to help reduce network downtime and decrease maintenance costs.\nCreate strategies for upgrading network software as new upgrades become available.\nStay up to date with new network technology and report to the executive team on a periodic basis.\nSupervise full-time, part-time, and contractual computing, network, and phone staff.\nProperly schedule staff to cover facility operating hours in an efficient and effective manner.\nAssign specific work tasks and monitor progress for timeliness and quality of results.\nDevelop training programs that ensure all staff members are proficient in operating and maintaining computer and phone systems.\nDevelop, implement, document, and maintain effective facility maintenance policies, procedures, and programs, including preventative maintenance on computer software, hardware, and phone systems.\nOversee proper control and care of computer and phone inventories, supplies, spare parts, tools, and equipment.\nPrepare and provide reports and documentation including purchase request orders, department operating budgets, capital improvement budget projects, special project reports, recommendations, updates, and event reports.\nOversee contracted maintenance agreements.\nDevelop bid specifications and renewal agreements.\nManage vendor relationships and related agreements to ensure acceptable quality and performance levels are achieved.\nWork with Event Manager(s) to facilitate client computing and phone system needs.\nWork with the Director of Event Services to establish pricing, billing procedures, and cost controls for these services.\nOversee help desk activities to ensure the IT needs of users are met.\nContinuously monitor security policies and best practices to protect networks and users.\nOccasionally work directly with clients to determine their needs and provide proposed pricing.\nAttend department head meetings and weekly staff meetings.\nDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with all departments.\nWork extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.\nSpeak and understand basic English well enough to communicate with customers, supervisors, and employees.\nMaintain a cooperative, team-oriented attitude when working with supervisors and fellow employees.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications & Skills\nDemonstrate knowledge of operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for anticipated events.\nDemonstrate knowledge of the methods, techniques, and procedures used to repair and maintain computer, networking, and phone-related systems.\nBe familiar with the principles and techniques of supervision, training, budget preparation, and purchasing.\nPossess strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.\nDemonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.\nPossess strong project management skills, including organization, planning, time management, and prioritization.\nDemonstrate excellent attention to detail.\nPossess any licenses, certifications, or training required by local, state, or national authorities for operation of equipment found in the facility.\nRead and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other related materials.\nExperience with Procore preferred.\nMeet the physical demands of the position, including mobility throughout the facility, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, and working from various heights.\nFollow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.\nWork effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules while producing accurate results.\nWork independently and demonstrate the ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative.\nMaintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered during employment.\nMinimum Education & Experience\nFour-year degree with concentration in MIS, Networking, Security, or a related field.\nFour years of experience working with enterprise networks.\nTwo years of experience working with Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW).\nTwo to four years of work-related experience in the public assembly industry, including stadiums, arenas, convention centers, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
