Together, we’re shaping the future of live experiences in the heart of the Motor City.\nTHE ROLE\nThe IT Specialist provides hands-on information technology and network support throughout Huntington Place. Reporting to the IT Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining the facility’s network infrastructure, supporting technology systems, and ensuring reliable connectivity for internal operations, clients, vendors, and events.\nThe IT Specialist serves as a technical resource for network architecture, system performance, disaster recovery planning, and user support. This position also provides operational support in the absence of the IT Manager and must be able to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, event-driven environment.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nNetwork Administration & Infrastructure\nAnalyze network requirements and contribute to the design, integration, and implementation of network architecture. \nMaintain network hardware and software including servers, network devices, peripherals, terminals, and cabling infrastructure. \nMonitor network stability, utilization, and performance to ensure reliable operations. \nInstall, configure, test, and support software and hardware upgrades. \nSystems Support & Operations\nMonitor systems performance and initiate recovery actions following outages or system failures. \nManage backup, storage, retrieval, and computer operation scheduling functions. \nCoordinate third-party maintenance and support for network hardware, software, and telecommunications services. \nDevelop, maintain, and test disaster recovery plans and procedures. \nCustomer & User Support\nProvide technical support to internal and external customers. \nTrain users on network administration, office productivity applications, and technology best practices. \nRespond to technology requests and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues. \nCoordinate with departments to understand and support operational technology needs. \nVendor & Service Provider Management\nDevelop and maintain effective relationships with technology vendors and service providers. \nWork with consultants to ensure technology platforms support business objectives and operational requirements. \nEvaluate network hardware and software capabilities and provide recommendations for improvements. \nCabling & Telecommunications\nRoute, install, terminate, and test network cabling throughout the facility. \nSupport voice, data, wireless, and telecommunications systems. \nAssist with technology infrastructure deployments for events and facility operations. \nOther duties and responsibilities as assigned. \nKEY DELIVERABLES\nReliable and secure network infrastructure supporting facility operations. \nTimely resolution of technical issues and service requests. \nSuccessful implementation and maintenance of network hardware and software. \nEffective disaster recovery and business continuity planning. \nStrong customer service and user support across the organization. \nConsistent technology performance supporting events and daily operations. \nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required. \nIndustry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft, or similar certifications preferred. \nMinimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology and network administration. \nExperience supporting enterprise network environments preferred. \nStrong technical aptitude and knowledge of networking technologies, servers, personal computers, wireless systems, and voice/data communications. \nExperience with network troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and infrastructure support. \nFamiliarity with web hosting, telecommunications systems, and network security principles. \nStrong analytical, organizational, and planning abilities. \nAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. \nAbility to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. \nCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS\nCompetitive salary commensurate with experience, plus:\nMedical, dental, and vision benefits starting day one \nPaid vacation, holidays, and sick time \n401(k) with company match \nWORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThis position operates throughout a large convention center facility and requires work in office, mechanical, telecommunications, and event environments.\nPhysical requirements may include:\nInstallation of network cabling in ceilings, rafters, catwalks, and confined spaces. \nAbility to work at heights of up to 30 feet using ladders and lifts. \nAbility to pass a confined space fitness evaluation. \nStanding, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting equipment as needed. \nOccasional work during evenings, weekends, and holidays to support events or emergency situations. \nEQUAL OPPORTUNITY\nHuntington Place / Legends Global is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer, encouraging Women, Minorities, Individuals with Disabilities, and Protected Veterans to apply.
