Join us!\nTHE ROLE\nUnder general supervision, perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks to repair and maintain all electrical equipment in and around the building.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nTroubleshoot all electrical malfunctions. Repair all inoperable electrical equipment and circuits.\nTroubleshoot electrical and control wiring.\nDevelop and follow preventive maintenance schedule for all electrical machinery, equipment and wiring.\nInstall, repair and modify electrical motors and panels.\nKeep all facility interior and exterior lighting in proper working order.\nPrepare and repair electrical fixtures and sockets to run required wires for computer hook-ups.\nTest backup generator system and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs with service company.\nAdvise the facility of all problems related to the electrical systems. Report any event caused damage to supervisor.\nMaintain, order and pick-up adequate spare parts and supplies.\nAdvise construction contractors, promoters, event coordinators and others on event’s electrical requirements.\nMust know and use OSHA requirements.\nTrain and oversee apprentice electricians.\nHelp plan and run power for the various types of shows\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nSkills and Abilities\nPossess thorough understanding of the operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.\nDemonstrate proper knowledge and use of all procedures, techniques, machines, materials, equipment and tools used in electrical construction and maintenance.\nUnderstand and work from general instructions, specifications, blueprints, sketches and preventive maintenance schedules.\nPossess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility.\nBe able to size wiring, calculate loads and install proper electrical devices.\nKnowledge of lockout and tag procedures on panels and electrical equipment.\nWork effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.\nKnowledge of HVAC equipment and the associated BMS system is preferred.\nUnderstanding computers and the use of MS Office and Outlook\nEDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nProven work experience as a Maintenance Electrician.\nFamiliarity with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code.\nLICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS\nState of Michigan Journeyman Electrician License.\nCOMPENSATION\nCompetitive wages, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nLocation: On Site - DeVos Place and DeVos Performance Hall\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
