This role assists with staff supervision, program and event coordination, facility standards, equipment oversight, and revenue growth initiatives. The Operations Coordinator serves as a key leader during assigned shifts and acts on behalf of the Operations Manager when needed. Duties are performed personally or through subordinate staff.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nAssist in managing daily rink operations, including public skating, hockey, figure skating, and special events.\nOperate and monitor ice plant schedules and settings in accordance with ice rental and seasonal needs.\nOversee ice plant maintenance and repairs conducted by refrigeration technicians and contractors.\nMonitor ice quality and coordinate resurfacing schedules.\nEnsure facility cleanliness, safety, and compliance with all regulations.\nConduct routine facility inspections and report maintenance needs.\nRecord and log all work performed, complete work orders and compile all required reports in a timely and efficient manner.\nMaintain proper use of LEGENDS GLOBAL’s Altum system for work orders, preventive maintenance, and asset tracking.\nCoordinates shutdown and start-ups of utilities when necessary.\nWorks with outside vendors and contractors in maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment.\nEnsures compliance with Cal/OSHA, OSHA, NFPA and all other applicable laws and regulations.\nSupervise front-line staff including skate guards, rink attendants, concessions, and guest services.\nAssist with hiring, onboarding, and training employees.\nPrepare shift schedules and manage payroll accuracy.\nEnforce policies, procedures, and performance standards.\nServe as Manager on Duty as assigned.\nMay perform other duties as assigned.\nSupervisory Responsibilities\nDirectly supervises employees in the Oak Park Ice Rink. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with LEGENDS GLOBAL's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nQualifications\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nEducation and/or Experience\n3+ years of ice rink facility experience.\nRequires a high school diploma/GED.\nBe licensed to operate a motor vehicle.\nOSHA safety certification is preferred.\nSkills and Abilities\nAbility to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously.\nGood written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.\nMust be highly motivated and able to work independently.\nProfessional presentation, appearance, and work ethic.\nStrong leadership and team development skills.\nKnowledge of ice rink operations and equipment preferred.\nExcellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.\nAbility to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.\nCPR/AED/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).\nComputer Skills\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have sufficient computer skills to operate BMS / other automated systems.
