Join us!\nTHE ROLE\nThis position is hands-on and is responsible for the production and inventory of hot and cold foods under the direction of the Executive Chef and works according to established standards and procedures set by the Food & Beverage Director and Executive Chef.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nMaintains organized sanitary workstation at all times.\nProperly labels and dates food items for storage and sales.\nAssists in the preparation of cut vegetables, baked goods, proteins, and salads.\nMinimizes waste by controlling overage and usage.\nFollows approved recipes and production standards.\nPrepare all food for concessions as directed by Executive Chef.\nPerform other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nAbility to read and understand English.\nAbility to learn operation of all kitchen equipment.\nStrong knowledge of safe health standards.\nStrong knowledge of sanitary practices.\nAbility to recognize and utilize weights and measurements, dry and liquid.\nAbility to lift 40 pounds.\nMust be able to identify and properly use all kitchen small wares.\nAbility to produce high-quality food in a fast-paced environment.\nPositive, customer service attitude always.\nMaintains proper grooming and dress code standards.\nWork ethic encourages strong urgency and quality in a team environment.\nEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE\nTwo years of experience in food service in a kitchen environment.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nPerforming work through repetitive eye/hand coordination.\nDaily lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. up to 5 minutes at a time. \nAbility to distinguish color.\nSee and distinguish objects or symbols 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less. Depth perception, peripheral vision and bringing objects into focus.\nClimbing ladders and staircases multiple times per day as needed to pick stock.\nConstant standing, walking, stooping. Constant reaching, handling products.\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nLocation: On Site - Wilmington Convention Center\nKitchen environment - otherwise not substantially exposed to adverse work conditions.\nHOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS\nIrregular hours which may include some nights and weekends and holidays based on facility event schedule.\nNOTE\nThe essential responsibilities of this position are described under the headings above.
