Maintain and monitor all physical public safety items such as key control, access cards, video/camera systems, radio, etc. Maintain parking/traffic control and enforcement as directed. Provide an industry leading 24/7 facility security operation with tact, outstanding service and provide a positive and memorable experience. Work is performed in a fast-paced environment requiring multi-task and overlapping deadlines. Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Must have the ability to walk extended distances and climb stairs.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nGreet guests as they enter and leave the facilities\nAnswer questions; resolve complaints, and give directions\nEnforce venue policies and procedures\nReport suspicious activity and violations of campus policy\nRespond to guest conflicts, medical situations, and other incidents\nProvide crowd management and assist with crowd movement\nSecure locations and prohibit access to unauthorized individuals\nChallenge unauthorized personnel in restricted areas\nFollow established code of conduct and safety procedures\nProvide exceptional service to all patrons\nPerform regular and routine security rounds of the campus; noting and correcting unsafe or insecure conditions, and takes further and immediate action to correct conditions as needed\nComplete detailed reports on activity during shift\nComplete Written Incident reports\nVerify reports are completed\nInput door schedule into magnetic door lock program\nDirect visitors, deliveries and related personnel to proper areas, notifies related departments of visitor/delivery arrival/departure\nOperate and monitor computerized fire alarm system and surveillance camera\nOperate company vehicle to transports employees or patrons around campus\nTake appropriate action in the event of an emergency\nMaintain daily shift schedules and posts\nAssign shift duties to Public Safety Officer/Public Safety Event Staff\nSupervise Public Safety Officer and Public Safety Event Staff\nReport incident to Public Safety Management for follow-up\nMaintain a proactive and positive attitude\nAttend campus meetings in the absence of Public Safety Management\nMust have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous and polite manner. This will include initiating contact with guests within 10 feet - i.e. smiling, saying \"Good Day\" or offering assistance when needed.\nMust feel comfortable when around large groups or speaking to a guest, as needed\nUnderstands the importance of providing customer service and in understanding of \"The Magic is in the Details\"\nAll other duties and responsibilities as assigned\nKnowledge\nPublic Safety/Security Background, including but not limited to Law Enforcement, Military, Fire, or Emergency Medical Service Background.\nJob Requirements\n(Some may not be required, but preferred)\nSurveillance (CCTV) Skills, preferred but not required\nWorking knowledge of Security and Public Safety functions\nCustomer Service Techniques\nFire Alarm System\nBasic Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications\nMust be able to use a Two-Way radio at all times\nMust maintain a professional appearance at all times.\nMust be able to keep information confidential\nValid State driver's License with no more than 4 points\nMust be able to pass pre-employment Background check, as well as random checks during employment\nMust be able to pass Pre-Employment drug test as well as random drug testing during employment\nExperience\nMinimum 1 year experience in Public Safety field\nMinimum 2 year supervisory/field training supervisor experience in Public Safety field\nSkills/Aptitudes\nMust possess oral and written communication skills and be able to follow instructions; able to qualify under existing state security guidelines; physical ability to walk, climb steps, stand/walk for up to 8 hours; must be fluent in English language; must be willing and able to work with a wide variety of individuals from varying socioeconomic backgrounds; attention to detail; conflict resolution skills preferred.\nWorking Conditions\nMay be exposed to adverse weather conditions for long periods of time; ability to work flexible hours in addition to normal business hours as needed; must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs; must be able to stand for long periods of time.
