This is a 2nd shift position.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nStand guard during events. Tour post periodically to ensure safety of patrons, staff, vendors, participants, and others on site.\nHandle any disturbances or problems that arise during an event or at the facility. If necessary, escort disruptive individual(s) to the security office and/or off the premises.\nWrite incident reports and meet with security supervisor to review.\nMonitor all surveillance, access control, and radio equipment contained within the facility.\nPrioritize situations and investigate/dispatch all safety and security-related incidents. Follow-up on all incidents with written reports and recommendations.\nAnswer emergency, non-emergency and administrative phone lines and provide an appropriate response as required by the nature of the call. Respond to emergencies and handle callouts.\nCommunicate effectively and efficiently using handheld radio.\nInspect alarms and fire extinguishers/sprinkler systems to ascertain they are set to operate. Inspect premises for signs of intrusion or tampering.\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with all entities who maintain business offices on property.\nTour facility, examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.\nAssist with crowd control inside and outside of the facility.\nControl unusual circumstances and events during fire, storms, riots, and other emergencies.\nRespond immediately to emergency situations -- answer alarms and investigate.\nAssist departments when handling large sums of high valued items.\nAct in a professional manner with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered.\nWhen necessary, document all shipping and keep a record of all keys, radios and other facility equipment that are assigned.\nOperate Command Center at an efficient level.\nUtilize CCTV and Access Control system to set door schedules based off building and Event needs.\nHas a neat, professional appearance and comes to work in complete and clean assigned uniform.\nCome to work on time and complete shift assignments (including overtime, if needed)\nBe courteous, respectful, and responsive to the public, customers, and clients.\nProject positive and confident professional attitude\nCustomer Service to the highest level\nMaintain the highest standards of business ethics.\nOther duties and responsibilities may be assigned.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nThis position has limited supervisory responsibilities. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.\nEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE\nMust be 18 years of age.\nPrefer previous experience in a security role.\nMust have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\nMinimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to do this job:\nAbility to communicate effectively and to prepare, maintain and analyze records.\nAbility to work cooperatively with others; analytical skills; decision making skills; effective written and verbal communication skills; presentation and listening skills; effective negotiation and mediation.\nAbility to handle conflicts, make common sense decisions and exercise proper action during high tension and stress.\nKnowledge of security and safety guidelines, and of laws and regulations that affect security policies, procedures, rules, and operations.\nKnowledge of security technology, CCTV, Door Access System, and security project implementation\nMust be able to read, write and understand English.\nMust be eligible to work in the United States\nMeet the physical requirements of this position.\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS\nCLEET certification within six months of hire.\nBe licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nMay spend long hours sitting and/or walking.\nOccasionally lift/push/pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs. Rarely lift/push/pull objects weighing up to 50 with or without assistance.\nAbility to operate security equipment.\nManual dexterity - Regularly required to use hands, to finger, handle or feel to handle building keys and open doors.\nReach with hands.\nClimb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl to access different parts of the facility.\nVisual acuity -- due to the possibility of spending long periods of time viewing security monitors.\nCOMPUTER SKILLS\nProficient computer skills including the ability to operate computers and security monitors.\nOperate a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office.\nHOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS\nTravel negligible.\nShifts vary -- Required to work any shift needed over the weekends including overnights on the weekends (as scheduled).\nWork extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.\nNOTE: The essential responsibilities of this position are described under the headings above.
